    68 F-20: pick guard question

See Reverb listing for a 1968 F-20 (no affiliation) - I’ve not seen an early style D-25/35 pickguard on an F-20 before - is that ‘normal’? Makes sense year wise…...

NGD - Year unknown Wine Red Ventura Hollow Body L5 type guitar

Personally, I think the tuning issue is because of the pickguard bracket. :)

Two serial numbers on a label?

D-35 just posted to Reverb shows a label with a second number written at the bottom of the label. I know that Guild used a secondary (ink-stamped) date code at the bottom of some labels in the early seventies, but this seems more like a second serial number(?) – and is hand written (though not...

    GuildQuest Continues.......

Am just seeing this post. For what it’s worth, I bought that guitar from CME shortly after you posted this! Was in Chicago (for Bluesfest), happened upon this T-100D, and was not gonna leave the shop without it! Needed new frets but my gosh is it fun to play! And the mickey mouse pickups sound...

    Sunburst finish on a 64 T-100

ramz434: Good morning! I’m the OP about your guitar, and just wanted to clarify that I have no doubts about the integrity of your listing..! I love guitars like this, worn-in and with musical stories within as well. I also love Guilds’ quirky history and eccentricities. That’s why I brought it...

    Sunburst finish on a 64 T-100

This listing just posted on Reverb. Cool old Slim Jim, but the sunburst seems pretty ‘severe’ - doesn’t look Guild-like to me. Obviously old, but do you think the sunburst is original...

    Curious bridge adjustment

A ‘72 D-40 just popped up on Reverb, and has an OK price, but has an unusual recess routed under the bridge pins. Curious. To help create a better break angle over the saddle? Have not seen this before...

    Custom F-412 BL (SRV Unplugged)

Listing indicates that it’s from Studio-Instrument Rentals, which opened in L.A.(?) in the 60’s. Any number of folks may have played that guitar!

    NGD: 1964 D-40

Wow! Can’t wait to hear what it sounds like. I (too) didn’t know about fan bracing on early D-40s. I have a 67 and love the sound of 60’s Guilds (and their lighter builds), so fan bracing is very intriguing. Keep us posted! John

Retired from the Br, onto the F30r now...

Westerly: What gauge strings are you using on the F-30? I have 12’s on mine and am thinking of trying a light (11) set. Also, I am digging Monel’s lately, but wonder about them on a smaller body guitar. I’d be curious how that F-30 sounds through your overdriven bass amp..! John

    Guild D44 Purchase Advice

Did anyone buy the ‘65? It sold on Reverb. I had a previous post about this, as a first-year D-44 (even with the crack) seemed VERY intriguing to me. If it’s now in the LTG fold I’d be curious as to how it turned out upon arrival. I love my ‘66…

I’m a Clevelander, and will be in Columbus for Labor Day weekend if that’s of any help. Happy to do it if you can wait that long. John
