    WTB WTB: Guild F-20

Thanks for all the wonderful info. Is yours a long scale as well? I'm curious how the change in string tension affects sound and playability.

How do you guys feel about the solid vs laminate back on later models? Also, do you prefer the short or long scale?

    '90s Guild F-20?

The one I saw from 1990 had an arched back, like a D25. Are they all finished with nitro? Any significant differences in weight? My Westerly dreadnoughts weigh much more than the ones I've tried from Corona.

    '90s Guild F-20?

Hey guys, I'm on the market for an F-20. My present options range from mid 60s Hoboken, and end in Westerly 1990. There aren't really any clear advantages in price. My question is whether there are any significant differences between a 60s, 70s, or 80s/90s F-20. Nut width? Did they switch...

    Guild Starfire 6 Inquiry

Ive got the opportunity to purchase this late '70s Starfire-6 for $2500. I rarely see them that low, and I'm dubious as to why. I noticed this issue in the back of the headstock. Anyone have some insight or advice? It plays and sounds great, but I'd like to make sure that I'm not missing...

Got Deoxit on my nitro finish

Trying out StewMac's Pot Cleaning Cap on my '68 Starfire V, it sprayed all over the top and left a dark stain around the shaft. Any suggested remedies?

    Straplocks for Starfire V

I've considered the DIY straplock option. I do have a set of those Ergo Strap Loks already. The black plastic ones that you twist over your strap and the endpin. However, that would require buying another strap, since the nice leather one I have already has straplocks on 'em. =)

    Straplocks for Starfire V

Hey folks, It's not quite NGD for me yet, but I'm awaiting the arrival of my new '68 Guild Starfire V! When it gets here, I intend to put straplocks on it. I've heard that Dunlop Straploks don't fit through the endpin hole on a Guildsby, so they won't sit flush against the butt end of the...

'68 SFV - What does this look like to you guys?

I'm THIS close to buying this guitar. They say that line running through the upper bout is only on the exterior finish and not through the wood. The crack seems to run along the grain. Would this be a dealbreaker for $2000? Has one tiny crack on binding, a crack in the pickguard screwhole...

RIP To The Punk Rock Johnny Cash And His Guild

He committed suicide. It was his second attempt by hanging since Sept. so he must've really wanted to go. He died just shy of 28 years old. From what I understand, he could imitate anyone, including people he just met, but Johnny Cash was what he was known for. Also, he worked as a bouncer...

    '69 Guild SF-V - Is this a good deal?

Im sure its not a consignment guitar. The condition is unbelievably mint for a 60s vintage. Not a scratch or gouge, hardly any wear. It's hard to believe it didn't come with a case because it looks like it's lived in one its whole life. I just wish they hadn't glued the floating bridge down. My...

    '69 Guild SF-V - Is this a good deal?

Hey guys, so my 4 year quest for a Guild SF-V with mini hbs almost came to a joyous end today, when I came across someone with a '69 cherry red Starfire in the shop! The asking price is $1700. I almost jumped on it, but I wanted to run it by the experts first. First and foremost, when did...

    Starfire V sans Bigsby value

Those are words of wisdom, guildman. Value is subjective indeed. I've been trailing an SF-V for a long time, and everytime one pops up I dont have the money for it. In these turbulent times though, i suppose I'd like to make sure I'm getting my money's worth where my patience lacks. I don't...

    Starfire V sans Bigsby value

Thanks guys. I believe the original guild bigsby has the same holes as the Guild tailpiece. I'm just wondering if swapping out the original Bigsby compromises the value and if his asking price is a realistic figure considering that. There arent any other issues to consider because everything...

    Starfire V sans Bigsby value

Hey guys, What is a realistic and reasonable price For a 1967 Guild Sf-V in cherry that's had the bigsby replaced With the harp tailpiece? I'm not selling, but trying to buy and the guy won't budge from 1600+. It's in generally great condition, except the pup selector switch is very sticky...
