    Model 40-T and relatives

You are 100% correct! Running my guitars thru it was probably 45 years ago now. Some days it's just about good memories 😄 (although I do still have that radio and play one of the old 78s every now and then)

    Model 40-T and relatives

Oh man field coil speakers can be amazing. I have a 1945 Philco console radio with a cathode biased 6v6 push-pull output section and field coil 12" speaker. I think the field coil has around 500 volts on it. I love the sound of this radio. I even ran a guitar through the phone input at one...

    Model 40-T and relatives

I've always been a fan of 6AQ5 or 12AQ5 output push-pull sections. In single ended designs as well.

Microtonal Sala Muzik guitar review by Brandon Acker

I'm a fan of Brandon Acker's YouTube videos covering classical guitar and many historic stringed precursors such as the Baroque theorbo. The review is of a modern day microtonal classical guitar. Very interesting.

I've been waiting for them to finally bring this useful tool back. I always liked their version of a string tension app.

    NGD 1970 M65 Special

That is a beauty! Love the mahogany top and the hinged tailpiece. The small amount of extra weight and length of the hinged tailpiece makes a difference in the sound on the small body M65 especially. The length adds a bit more pressure on the bridge to help the body acoustically. I have a...

Never Thought This Would Ever Happen

As others have said I think it just takes time. I think with music especially it's difficult to make yourself get back into it. With the passing of some time and possibly and some unexpected experience it will come back to you.

2025 and I just got my first Smartphone Lol

Smart phones are very handy devices but... My first flip phone is one I will always remember, as I still have it. Can't use it of course, too old tech, but it was THE BEST! Oh and while on the subject of old but great tech, My old 1970s National Semiconductor digital LED watch. National...

    Guild DV 52 binding issue

I've noticed binding issues on a number of Guilds I've had that were made in the mid to late 90's for some reason, both acoustic and archtop. Much less so from the 70's thru the early 90's.

    Purchased Tuner vs an Ap?

The most useful tuner I have is a Korg PB-04 Pitchblack polyphonic tuner. Love the fact I can see all 6 strings played at once for quick small adjustments.

    Basic math

I couldn't agree more! Validating the information is key when we have vast amounts of information at our finger tips every minute of every day. I'll just leave it at that.

2004 Peregrine joins early 80's predecessors

Well I think I will have to work on a name for this one. Sometimes they speak to you and the name right there. My current setup is Guild all the way.

    Hum on the F65ce

In the past I have had a similar situation where on an older guitar when I removed the strings and shaved the saddle then found it had developed a hum. The hum would only go away would when I touched the output jack. What I found to be the problem was in fact the UST. What had happened was...
