    Import factory closing?

Apologies for the stupid question, but which Newark St. models have been made in Korea recently. Am I wrong in thinking that a number of them were already being made in China and/or Indonesia?

    Tenth Anniversary

It has, and that's a real shame. Of course, New Hartford and Tacoma didn't produce much in the way of electrics, either. You have to go back to Corona for something resembling a full electric line.

    Tenth Anniversary

Today is the tenth anniversary of Fender shuttering the New Hartford plant, isn't it? At least that's what my Facebook memories tell me. It's hard to forget the distress and uncertainty of the time. And it's a wonder that Guild is still around, and still building wonderful guitars in the US...

    D-55 70th Anniversary VS D-55 regular

    A reasonable decision, I think.

Finally - an update to my DV74 NGD

    D-55 70th Anniversary VS D-55 regular

I'm inclined to agree with @playernumber2. If you already have an amazing D55, stick with it, unless you have a chance to A/B it against the 70th Anniversary model. I was lucky enough to have a chance to play two 70th Anniversary D55s back in February. One was a truly remarkable guitar; the...

What acoustic are you playing today?

FWIW, Macca has long ben a common nickname for Liverpudlians whose last names begin with "Mc." Steve McManaman, the great Liverpool football player, was also Macca. But Paul has been known as Macca for decades. Sorry for the confusion. And good for you for the lessons. I'm hoping to follow...

Are you using Macca's odd picking/strumming pattern? I never could get that down.

What acoustic are you playing today?

I spent some time last night with my 2022 F40 Traditional. I got it in late 2022 from Tundra Music and was frankly disappointed initially--it seemed tight, quiet, and generally unresponsive. I thought about trying to send it back, but the price was low and the hassle of international shipment...

    L. R. Baggs HiFi system

Pity about the price, if that's right. Otherwise I'd seriously contemplate it for my Oxnard F40. I'm very curious about the Silo mic. I have a Baggs Lyric in my F47R, and it sounds wonderful but does feed back easily.

Looking for D55 70th anniv. owners or players opinions, may buy one

I haven't done my NGD post yet, but I'll chime in. I played two 70th Anniversary D55s at Chicago Music Exchange in February. One was a very nice rosewood dread, but nothing to warrant the exceptional price. The other was one of those rare instruments where the notes leap from the soundboard...

What acoustic are you playing today?

For my second gig in a week, I decided to swap my 2007 F30 for my 2012 G312 as my second, alternate tuning guitar. The G312 in this iteration was briefly a part of the New Hartford Standard series, with a gloss body but satin-finished neck and plain appointments. It's basically a 12-string D50...

    TX's demo of his F-612

That is a big sound from a big guitar. Really something.

You said it would happen; I have my second Guild guitar (with pics)

Great find, Hawk. I've heard a D4 that punches well above its weight. Sounds like yours might, too.

    NGD - F412

Congratulations, Cougar. I have an iced tea burst F30 and have long wondered how well the burst would work on a larger guitar. The answer is: pretty darn well. Play it in good health.

    Nice move, Tonebob.

What acoustic are you playing today?

I wasn't kidding when I said that the iced tea burst was coveted. It's gorgeous. I think it was only offered in 2007--at least, I've never seen a confirmed iced tea burst from another year.
