Brazilian Rosewood of the Guild D-55 50th Anniversary

Italian flatpicking guitarist Beppe Gambetta owns two R Taylor mini-jumbos (?), top with Engleman, body/sides of "Madi" Rosewood. I have only heard 1, but there is no lack of sustain in that combo or build. Will ask him about his second when I see him in June. Just as another comment, again...

    Humditty way down

And this morning, in case, we are back to 42-45%...ahhh. ;) Must be because they say rains coming, though only partly cloudy now...

    Humditty way down

Now...just over an hour later, our temp here has dropped from 72° F to 59° F outside, and 29% humidity! WTF! 9 more points and the state will issue a "Red Flag" forest fire alert..."Expect unusual fire behaviour and conditions." My in-case humidity has dropped from 45% to 35%! (I checked it...

    Humditty way down

While mine seems to be about ten points higher than yours, that is why I Oasis use in-case humidifiers, which seem to be keeping things well above 40%...as reported by my high tech  D'Addario "Humiditrak" metering...I keep one humidifier in either the sound hole or the body...

    70th D-55 or F-512E...?

I had a new F512 built in summer of 2014 (13?)...spectacular guitar, but I found they made a change in string-spacing at the bridge between Tacoma (Chaz's) and mine. I simply could not play the guitar fingerstyle. Sounded fantastic, neck profile was to die for, but for me it turned into a one...

    Dark Side Of The Sun?

...another LP I bought right off the turntable at the local record music store, Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon. We just had no exposure to stuff like this, certainly not on radio, walked into store to drool at guitars and had my eyelids blown back! Demo record, probably why it has so many...

    Who Did It Better???

Theme From An Imaginary Western, Jack Bruce version from Songs From A Tailor (this one is not that) Until I got the JB version, way way back when, I would have been all in for Mountain, probably the best "legato" guitar break...of all time? Rumour at that remote time was that Jack Bruce...

    Who Did It Better???

Sirkku and I always talked about taking in one of these shows, but never did it. We DID see Garrison Kiellor in Worcester though, I think it was before his controversy... DID get to see Aoife with Julian Lange and "Critter" in Turner's Falls, at a nice small venue (restored theater) as luck...

    Who Did It Better???

While I recognize there is a large audience for rap, hip-hop and reggae, its not for me...("Shields up, Scottie!")

    Who Did It Better???

I have vote J Geils Band, this tune seems to define energy! Between the Nice or ELP on Hang On To A Dream, cannot separate the two into "best," both are great versions.

    Taylor Swift revives Workingman's Dead

Arrgh, ya got me! Friggin' April 1! But its Sirkku and my 51st anniversary of our first date (married 48 1/2 years), so I'll get over it(y) :D

    Who Did It Better???

Agree...if I had a garage band, I would wish we could do the tune as well as Chicken Shack, but I have to go with Peter Greene's Fleetwood Mac, they kinda own this song. If there was an earlier version done by Otis Rush, I could go with that, but to me this video shows him kinda doing a...

    NGD: F-212XL Standard

I went looking for the "delivery day" images I took when Chaz got his, but I must have dumped them after I sent them to him. If Chaz's isn't the first off the line, its has to be very close, and must have been the first shipped in New England ;)
