    Where’s the cat?

One of my favorite subreddits. From r/findthesniper. https://www.reddit.com/r/FindTheSniper/s/NtJUu59I3C There are many with "Find the cat." They're just such naturals at it.

    A Sheryl Crow Bass

Yeah. Looks like an early 60s M-75 Aristocret.

    NGD - Almost

Ouch! Not nice at all. Packing is so important, and experienced sellers should know that by now, especially with UPS. With how high that seller priced this guitar, he should not have flubbed that at all -- UPS or no UPS. Even more tragic is the damaged vintage Guild. :C(

Starfire 1 DC (new ones) Are They Any Good?

I agree with DrumBob. It seems that members here generally have a higher opinion of the Korean-made Newark Street series. If you explore the forum a little deeper, you'll see which of these models are more highly regarded and from which years. There have been many in multiple configurations...

    Let's Talk About the Sun

This reminds me of the time I was touring with a band, and I always carried a book with me to read when I had the chance. In a bookstore, I picked up a tiny, old pocket book about the sun that had great illustrations, albeit very dated information. When I opened the book, this was the first...

Tom Bukovac and Bryan Sutton jam on acoustic guitar

Bryan Sutton picks so flawlessly and with such clarity. I think it's definitely his bluegrass upbringing that honed his talent. Great dynamic between the two, and you can tell how comfortable they are together playing off each other.

WTB Need a LOW bridge for T100

Sorry this didn't work out for you lxtlan. I use this on my Aristocrat with the separate cup bridge posts, and it also worked on my '59 T-100D bridge base that requires a very low bridge.

Recommend electric guitar for an 8 year old please...

Another option which has just over a 24" scale, but has a small, more manageable body suitable for kids is the Hofner Shorty guitar. She can actually grow into this, too. https://www.hofner.com/en/shop/hct-sh-d-r-0-shorty-deluxe-red-2978?category=676 And if she doesn't like it, you suddenly...

Do you remember when you started playing guitar

My first venture happened when I was about seven or eight, with a cheapie, non-branded acoustic in an adult education group class. My neighbor and my brother were also in the class. The instructor went around and tuned each guitar, and then we all fumbled horrendously through simple folk song...

    Al Di Meola

As a kid, I first saw Al Di Meola on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert, blazing away on a Les Paul. I distinctly remember my mouth dropping open, and my adolescent brain exploding and thinking, "Who and what the hell is this?" I had never heard anything like that at all. He completely blew me away...

Which Bigsby for 1966 starfire 2/3?

Congratulations on becoming a vintage Guild owner! The Starfire III is a fun introduction. You're lucky to have gotten one that has already had a neck reset and a refret. The newer Guild Bigsbys--the licensed versions--are machined aluminum while the originals are sandcast. They used to be...

    Jerry Garcia Pencils

I'm also a mechanical pencil fan. These are probably the most run-of-the-mill mechanical pencils, but I love them, especially the .07 and .09. My wife uses them too and uses them for her design drawings. My son, however, uses these crazy expensive precision German pencils that look like they...

NGD - 1970 Starfire IV with DeArmonds

Good to know. Thanks for taking the time to gather evidence and post pics from your gorgeous assemblage of Guilds. I'm going with the little cutouts. 😀

NGD - 1970 Starfire IV with DeArmonds

Ah. I figured. I don't have a router, but I have a Rotozip I can use. It's not as stable, so I need to be careful. I also have an unpainted blank to use to make a guard for my '68 Capri. I'm also not sure if I should incorporate the little cutout to adjust pickup height like you've...

    HB1 (Fender) pickup repair

I've used Tom Brantley before for pickup rewinds on '65 Hofner Club Bass. He used to work with Lindy Fralin, but he's had his own shop for a while now. He's a number one go-to for a lot of pros. I'm not sure about his turnaround, but I doubt it will be 6 months. As a nobody customer, I had a...
