    Mgod's collection

It is being much discussed elsewhere including individual items in Online Offerings, here https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?threads/couple-nice-guilds-in-this-list.222471/ where there is a catalog and here...

    Whoa - 23,000, 24,000, and 26,000!

I write as someone who has had several years to implement the first couple of items on the plan and they still haven't happened.

    Whoa - 23,000, 24,000, and 26,000!

Alternatively you will retire, have more time to spend on the computer and choose to do so because online interactions fill voids previously filled by work.

    Whoa - 23,000, 24,000, and 26,000!

No battle. The price I am paying for improved mental health is to be very selective about what, and how often I post.

    Josh White slothead.

The article was written in 2009. It was much discussed circa 2010 including Hans commenting on the conclusions from the television presentation. One link is https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?threads/history-detectives-josh-white-guitar.163565/#post-1436409 but if you try and follow the...

No. You are not being ostentatious enough. That's "patina" if you are planning on doubling the price.

    A Sheryl Crow Bass

I of course should not trust my memory and am not sure whether my source is PMs, LTG or the DudePit. But to add to the story, based upon my recollection: mgod had played what was usually called his "Phil Lesh Bass" a hollow M-85 that had belonged to Lesh and had some "proto-Alembic" mods done...

    A Sheryl Crow Bass

To the extent that my memory is correct that is the configuration and color I associate with her first M-85. Looks like she is using both PUs and the Deep-Hard switch is in the Hard position. Your tuning knobs are not what I think of as the usual knobs but they look like ones Guild did use.

    A Sheryl Crow Bass

So there is a documentary I have not tracked down and the pic seems to be from that. https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-reviews/sheryl-crow-documentary-review-showtime-1340759/

    A Sheryl Crow Bass

I saw this somewhere online but have, of course, forgotten where. My memory says her first Guild was a M-85-II in the non-hollow configuration. Hence 1973 or later and humbuckers. This bass, with the cover where the bridge PU would be, is similar to factory configured JS I's from the 1970's...

You could go down the rabbit hole yourself. Find a digital signal processing suite that includes a fast Fourier Transform and you're mostly there. But I think the best way to go is to convince @GAD that he is interested in this and then offer to loan him instruments once he has his lab set up...

    NBD - Need Expert Input

Well "Deep-Hard Tone Switch" is what Guild called it so only you can decide whether innuendo was intended circa 1970. "suck" switch, AFAIK was coined by people who did not like the tone with the switch and claimed it sucked all of the tone out of the sound. The people who have reported before...

    Guild Flying V ever made?

We can quibble about the definitions but I was reacting to "may have been hot rodded by Wickersham or Alembic" and expressing skepticism about who had done it. Changing the magnets definitely is some kind of mod and I am reminded of the days of HO scale slot cars when upgrading the magnets was...

    Where’s the cat?

I have suppressed the memory but I think we went looking for her because we could not find her. I do remember opening the drawer, she looked at me, stood up, stretched and jumped out.

    Guild Flying V ever made?

Thanks to the always correct internet. The Builder of Casady's bass was Glenn Quan. I have no idea why I remembered "Leo" but my post upstream is wrong. It has been reported that the bass once had a Guild/Hagstrom bridge that was later replaced by a Badass style bridge. Pictures or it didn't...

    Where’s the cat?

I once closed a dresser drawer with a cat sleeping in it, unnoticed by me. She slept for several hours so it wasn't traumatic for her but I certainly learned my lesson.

    Guild Flying V ever made?

The Casady bass was a custom build for Jack using a Guild JetStar neck and Hagstrom Bisonics. The builder was Leo Quan, of Badass bridge fame, or someone working for him. The Bisonics came from Jack's stash. Not sure where the neck came from. The late @mgod had played it and reported that it...

Going across the top from left to right I would expect Master Volume, Bridge Volume, Bridge Tone and below, Deep/Hard Switch, Neck Volume, Neck Tone. I'm extrapolating from memory, a 72 JS II and @The Guilds of Grot' s 1973 M85-II pictured here. The knob in the Bridge Tone "slot" is not a...

    Strap button placement

It is not always safe to generalize from New Hartford to Westerly (which is where the OP guitar was made). New Harford, being Guild, was inconsistent about strap buttons. At one point if the instrument had factory electronics it got a strap button. No electronics, no button. This was...
