    NGD D-55 New Hartford 2009

Thanks Jeff. Can’t say expert exactly but possibly a modicum of empirical wisdom.

    NGD D-55 New Hartford 2009

Just a quick note about the strap button on the upper bout. It's hard to image but there is a block about 3/4 inches wide about 1.5 inches long and maybe .5 inches deep that it attaches to. My Tacoma D-55 does not have one and I've noticed that later year NH's don't have one either.

Thanks DMLV. I do enjoy the dreadnaughts. I'm glad I kept my shoulders in good shape in my old age.

    NGD D-55 New Hartford 2009

Thanks Ralf. And I know it has Adirondack braces too. A win-win-win. It has a beautiful burst top, adi braces and it sounds fantastic. It's all your fault , Ralf.😜

D-55 Brazilian? Do they exist other than from 2003?

Wow, Wayne Henderson! Do you know him or live in close proximity to his shop? A picture of that adi top would be nice. I had a friend (now departed) that was a player and made a cd which Wayne played on a few tracks with him. He had 2 of his guitars. I could get a truck load of Guilds for the...

    NGD D-55 New Hartford 2009

I received this guitar on Thursday via Fed Ex. I bought it off of Reverb. It was made September 8th, 2009 in New Hartford. It was the first guitar finished. The seller included some Elixir custom light strings because the strings on it were not good. I cleaned it up and restrung it. It seems to...

D-55 Brazilian? Do they exist other than from 2003?

Looking at your list of guitars I can see you're no stranger to Brazilian RW. Your F-50r Brazilian must be a monster sounding instrument. Thanks for the link of your NGD D-55.

I guess we could ask Tommy Smothers.

D-55 Brazilian? Do they exist other than from 2003?

Cordoba and Corona being close always throws me off since they are California type names. Corona = Fender = 2003 Brazilian D-55's. Got it. And no definite proof of anybody (at least here) owning a D-55brw from back in the day. Ok. Thanks for the feedback Chaz.

D-55 Brazilian? Do they exist other than from 2003?

Post title says it all. I went back to about page 7 of 10 in the archives and could not get a definitive answer. I know that in 2003 the Oxnard plant made a limited run of 50 that had Engelmann spruce tops and Brazilian RW back and sides. I think awagner has one. But since D-55 were made...

Why I went with Tacoma over NH

I went back again and read your comment about the neck. I misread your comment about neck preference. You liked the feel of the NH over the Tacoma. That's why I was at first confused. My bad.

Why I went with Tacoma over NH

I going to assume based upon your recent review and comparison of the 2 d-50's that the sound of the NH is why you decided to keep it over the Tacoma. The tuners, neck and overall condition of the Tacoma wasn't enough to sway you to keep that one. Enjoy the NH D-50. I sold my NH over the Tacoma...

Why I went with Tacoma over NH

In evaluating the tone i was curious what gauge of strings you were using?

Income statement, statement of changes in financial position and cash flow as well. Sounds like LTG could have been a nostalgia board if it wasn’t for CMG. Still so much effort and good done in NH to be just shut down is sad.

Wow, she looks really nice! Did you use the bore oil on the fret board? I’ll have to look at the original pics you posted but are those the bridge pins that came with it? Are they ebony? She‘s as nice to look at as I’m sure she is to play. My questions were answered after reading your post. And...

I looked up FMIC in the acronyms and I can't find it's meaning. But I will guess it's Fender Musical Instrument Corporation. That's what it is. I'm not a fan of the Fender venture capitalists

My Guild D-50 BGS was born in Tacoma Washington June 15th 2006. It was the 10th guitar finished. It was a Thursday. Not relevant to this post other than me as the OP. I am a big fan of Tacoma and New Hartford Guilds. By default I'm a big fan of the Fender era of ownership of Guild. The abrupt (...
