    Guild D-55 Replacement Tuners

I still have a 2007 D55 where I replaced all the Grover tuners with brand new ones that I ordered from an online guitar parts supply. The new ones fit right into all the openings on the guitar headstock. They are authentic and I don't mind at all how they look on the guitar. When I got bought...

What's this? Who knew, apparently the Starfire bass was very popular for top 40 in the 1960's. After viewing some other videos, I concluded it was candy apple red, but what is it that he has in the neck pick-up position? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEmRgvhT6fE

    Guild F512 question.

I measured every F412 and F512 I owned going back to a 1981 model. The deepest was 4 5/8" outside to outside at the lower bout, and the most the depth varied was by 1/4". Never paid much attention after that. Could we consider that its more a case of the sound of the instrument dictating the...

    Chicago Guild (kinda)

If we thought Terry Kath faded out in this song, how about the drummer only clicking his hi-hat every other count in this song? As a well paid drummer in the day, I could only do this type of song for so long before I had to call a few songs myself with some great drum structures in them in...

    Chicago Guild (kinda)

The song was OK, and Peter Cetera no doubt made another $1 Million about this time. Then he went on to a solo career singing with Amy Grant and Crystal Bernard among others. If you listen real close in this song there is a second acoustic guitar player (or harp?) filling in with some very nice...

What's going on with shipping costs?

Most of my guitar sales were bought by folks in Europe which I sent USPS until about 2016. Then it all began to change, becoming more restrictive. On a different topic I continue to sell many small collectibles on ebay, and yes the new state sales taxes are hammering my sales. However the...

    3 Guitars, Out of Storage

Actually I was quite fortunate with the battery situation. Every time I checked they were OK in there and were perfect when playing amplified. How might this happen, you ask? A few of my guitars got lost in the shuffle.. I re-connected with a lot of music folks like high school friends, etc...

    3 Guitars, Out of Storage

One more item. With all the price stickers I see I will no longer beat my guitar. Although one of the best players ever, Stephen Stills was doing some guitar whacking through some of the 9 minutes of Suite Judy Blue Eyes; nice percussive stuff like a conga beat or something. I have learned to do...

    3 Guitars, Out of Storage

"Sing on brother, play on drummer" -Jimi being notably Shakepearian and Dylanesque. Was a great line. On the same album: "Click bang, what a hang, your daddy just shot poor me." For humidity I use Planet Waves humidpaks. They used to last about 6 months, but now they last indefinitely. Reason...

    3 Guitars, Out of Storage

It all began as I so often hear: "Oh you play drums, lets see what you can do." Having practiced every Bonham lick off every Zeppelin album since the day, its like riding a bike. So I have been on drums now for a few recent years in my now apparent semi-retired mode. This is how it seems to go...

Who knew? This is from 1972. These guys always impressed me as knowing what a great guitar is all about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRhWXolnrkg&list=RDMM49bl6FrgZTs&index=27&fbclid=IwAR35whC-tE6-vzkmWPc3dKiTrod4b_rif7MOkngx-5hSkVt9J50KNMYTf4U

The way he's swinging it all around not paying much attention, it could have been worse. Apparently he liked those kids and wasn't aware of too much else.

D Tar Lock n Load End 1/4 input

I'm interested in seeing how this all progresses. I used to own a lot more of these lock and load guitars, but my run of buying, fixing, selling guitars came to an end. So now just the enjoyment of owning "player" guitars is enough.

D Tar Lock n Load End 1/4 input

So apparently Guild chose this system in 2007 and ended it in 2010? Today I have 2 Guild guitars with this jack. Lots of folks that I showed it to thought it was great. Both of mine have worked very well for about 10 years, but if something quits on them, what can you do with a 7/8" hole...

Seems as though his guitar strap is set for the guitar slightly high on him. Maybe that makes it look smaller? Also has been playing this guitar on all their albums since about 1974. That's a lot of experience wielding it around all over studios and stages.

Yeah, but I tend to think that #7 is staged though- it doesn't quite look real. You can take a cheap guitar after it dropped and broke and then make a video for youtube trying to get a million views or something. Still slightly funny. But to take a super cool 1975 guitar and bang it, ouch.. I...

It looks to me like he only hits his guitar once. What is the second one that is hilarious, like where in the video is the first time, and then the second time? Maybe I haven't noticed all of it yet.

Yes, exactly. I began to watch video's of some of my favorite songs. First nice guitar I got was a used F50 after seeing Bonnie Raitt playing Angel From Montgomery. Additionally Give a Little Bit was a great song when it first came out and I bought the album. To learn that one of the greatest...

I do everything possible not to let this happen, since every dent would have me cringe. You can see here in the live performance, where at 2:10 there's a "Whack" to the headstock and the impact projects through the PA. It is cringeworthy since you can only imagine all these clunks and hits...
