New M20 - is it to small

I thought the same thing. The more he dug in the tinnier the tone went. Beautiful sounding box when played to its limits, but all guitars have limits. The attraction and comfort of the size obviously sacrifices the tonal range of the instrument.

Why does my fretboard look like this?

Why does my fretboard look like this?

Thanks for your input. So my questions become: how could this be wear? The discoloration is right up against the nut and fret...the string doesn’t come in contact with that area? Could it be a chemical reaction? If so why only on the first 5 frets, I play all over the fretboard? the bridge...

    Guild renaming

Me thinks the key word is “ownership”. It’s not a stewardship, so they can do what they want with the naming/numbering sequences. I wouldn’t get my panties in a bunch over it, frankly there are bigger fish to fry these days. I would say just enjoy your guitar and name it whatever floats your...

On the fence - 1979 Guild D-50 or Eastman E20D-TC

My 2 cents...hold out for a nice d50....any USA factory. Although they’ll vary guitar to guitar, I think they are the flagship Guild guitar. My 93 from Westerly is one sweet guitar I’m a no cutaway, no electronics guy. If you want a cutaway with electronics buy a les Paul
