    OMG X350

I owned a '57 X-375 B and like a numb skull I sold it. It was a bit of a handful I must say, what with all those buttons. Too many choices for me. I got a lot of raves at open mics though. Here's a link to the one I bought: http://guitarsnjazz.com/product/guild-stratford-x-375-b/

    Three Guild Archtops

They all are satisfying played acoustically. Maybe the X-700 a little so, because of the two pups installed in the top. But, who's complaining?

Well done, Jaguar. Makes me groove to the 60's Beach Boys sound.

Artist Award Benedetto With Thomastik String

Dave, I'll post a comparison of the A-500 and AA soon. Right now, on the A-500, I have Newtone Strings which are quite different than the TI's on the AA. The Newtone strings are called "Masterclass" and labelled as acoustic guitar strings double wound, phos. pronze with a round core, .012 -...

Artist Award Benedetto With Thomastik String

I just installed Thomastik Infeld "Jazz BeBop", catalog # 112 strings (.012 - .050). Plays well acoustically, and dreamy through the Rivera jazz amp. I'll post a comparison of the AA and A-500 soon. The X-700 is, of course, a different sort of axe, and more versatile sonically.

Walrus, that's easy. When the wife says stop playing the guitar and start playing in the garden! :p

    Three Guild Archtops

Here ya go Jaguar. My three Guild archtops: on the left, the 2004 X-700 Benedetto, in the middle the 1963 A-500, and on the right, the 2001 Artist Award Benedetto. I put Thomastik Infelds on the X-700 and Artist Award yesterday, and had a hard time trying to stop playing them. Added more pics...

Artist Award Benedetto With Thomastik String

Dear LTGers, I just installed Thomastik "Jazz Bepop" .012 -- .050 strings on my 2001 Guild Artist Award Benedetto, and I have to say that it is by far a pleasure to play. What definition and creamy sound they produce. And they are easy to riff on without much pressure.

Give me a break! Reminds me of my Artist Award Benedetto...somewhat...apologies for the gloat.

K&K vs. Journeytek passive? Suggestions on PU for acoustic

Lots of wisdom in your post. Where do you run open mics?

K&K vs. Journeytek passive? Suggestions on PU for acoustic

As you say, it's a personal opinion regarding pups. I like the idea of installing less expensive pu's on less expensive guitars. Just one thought: the K&K mini is a passive pup for which you're going to be dependent on your amp to control and modify the output. If the amp is being controlled by...

Getting ready to buy a D-50 - a couple questions

You got potentially a special guitar there. Just address any major structural issues such as bridge lifting, neck block moving or neck angle, or tuners not working properly, or major cracks.. Otherwise, leave the mojo alone. It's cool! I have a '65 D-50 and it has some mojo, which I'm not...

Tom, It's satisfying to know that there are other LTGers who have a "romantic" relationship with their guitar(s) than myself!

    Finnish sense of humor

I'm the other way around. I don't like cold, but heat is okay, up to a point. Summertime in India late April until the monsoon arrives either in June or July, is super hot. I used to mind it, but not now. 105 F in the shade anyone?
