I like things that say Guild. Old things that say Guild, not just the guitars, but the case candy, catalogs.
The picks are all old, each a different thickness, style.
Collecting Guild is fun. Gibson stuff was always scarce and boring.
The kid is like a little tiny Mark Knopfler, wth?
The Mustang wouldn't be in this if it wasn't real vintage.
The Melody Maker is a tone monster, in the right hands. And so is the Mustang.
I saw Jimmy Vaughn playing one with the Thunderbirds opening for Clapton, absolutely devastating. It's...
And this;
'74 S-100C:
Nut: 1 10/16 "
5th: 1 13/16 "
12th: 2 " (even)
22nd: 2 1/8
'96 S-100:
Nut: 1 11/16 "
5th: 1 14/16 "
12th: 2 1/16 "
22nd: 2 1/4
I left most of the measurements in 16th's instead of simplifying so you can see how little they differ...
Amazing, interview with Kim Thayill I've never read, and the instant takeway from it is that it's an excellent guitar for detuning, because of the tuning stability which I've already experienced, a couple open tunings, you can go back and forth in seconds. With a Strat you'll be at it for...
Cause people are stupid.
One day you figure it out.
They told Willie he sucked, for years, he didn't have the Nashville sound, which was quite bad actually.
I believe the S-100 got the axe in 1978, not the 80's.
Guild brought it back in 1994 after demi god of Grunge Kim Thayill manipulates...
Not trying to get political here.
But the weather. Some folks saying that we could be facing a climate emergency, to some folks to even mention it is taboo.
Truth be told, it's real as hell, and it's here now.
Wife's mom taught school in Redwood Valley to students who went on to be very...
Have you heard, of course, being the big track, but the whole album is a gem.
I should listen to it all over again, but yes, this was my blueprint for playing electric guitar.
It comes through in your playing. I should have gone even deeper into the album.
It's like putting bigger tires on a car, there's a benefit, and a consequence.
I wonder what Guild tech support would say over the phone, or does that even exist these days?
A good Strat is a total mayhem machine. But also very tasteful.
It's funny that the S-100 we speak of was conceived in 1970, because looking at one next to a Strat which was conceived in the early 50's, you get the impression that the Strat is 20 years ahead of the S-100.
I'd have to give the...
If it's not tweaking out the neck, like obviously bowing it regardless of truss rod tension which has to be maxed out to handle it, then you should be fine.
I suppose in time, the extra tug could contribute to neck angle issue, which seems to happen anyway.
How old is your guitar? An older...
If it's a keeper, In time, I'll show it off. All I gotta say is I sold my SG for twice as much and I end up looking like a genius in the bargain.
Your greatest fear really should be your guitars getting sold for what you said you paid for them ;]]
Really is photogenic.
Pretty happy just looking at it, playing it doesn't seem that important.
You're right, the shading is really great. This puts all of my SG's to shame. Gibson's Custom Shop couldn't even pull this off.
At some point I'm going to have to drag my '73 SF2 out, but then it...
