HELL Y to the E to the S!!! I bet you can’t eat just….20! Unlike most old bay seasoned snacks (chips etc) these aren’t over seasoned/salty. Just a hint that makes you want more. 😊

(Suggested serving size is 55 goldfish…which actually might be the first time they got it even sort of close. 🤣)

Midnight Toker,
Betcha I can eat just none.
Two and a half years ago I had just finished losing 50 lbs., down from 216. Since then, with a lot of effort, and a serious loss of self control, I managed to get back up to 200. Pretty horrible when I'm only about 5'-9".
Two months ago, I confronted my demons and re-gained my discipline, and now I'm down to 184, and counting.
So no. I ain't eating any.

I head somewhere that a lot of things that people THINK are seasoned with Old Bay are actually another brand, J.O Crab seasoning.

I watched it on Dirty Jobs.

JO is also a major brand. They are less expensive and most restaurants use it in bulk around here. But here’s the thing… if it says Old Bay on the product, like these goldfish, it’s absolutely real old bay. But as far restaurants/deck bars/crab decks…they don’t call it old bay by product name, more the description of the flavor. The entire region calls that flavor old bay no matter who makes it. It’s not only a brand, but also the title of the spice mix/flavor…no matter who makes it.

PSA:

Rubber bands and cats do not mix.
My one year old Lucy coughed up some chunks of rubber bands the other night, then she became very lethargic.
Turns out, she has some obstructing her intestine just below her stomach. It's going to run between $4-7k to get her back home, so, rubberbands, hair scrunchies, anything thin and rubbery are fatal to cats, if they eat them.

Just think of it like dogs and chocolate.

I'm so sorry. I hope Lucy will be okay.

I wasn't aware of the rubber band problem. Thank you for the alert.

Sorry to hear that. Hope your kitty gets better. Our cat loves to chew plastic. We try to keep plastic bags away but everything comes in plastic. Luckily he mostly just chews.
Here are a couple pictures:

Default,
Sorry to hear about your kitty's problems, and hope she recovers quickly and fully.
The dangerous nature of those items when ingested by pets is well known, and we take extra care to keep them away from our three kitties, who unfortunately are attracted to them like, well, cats to elastics.
Your post is a cautionary tale for all the pet people here.

Talked to the vet last night. Fortunately, she was able to massage the obstruction back into the stomach, which is a much simpler surgery. By that time, Lucy was awake and recovering nicely.

I had a cat that loved fresh Italian rolls. Bread doesn't provide any nutrients, but it is safe. I had another cat that ate a leftover pot of green beans, another, peas.

Cats are weird. As evidence, here is a pic of the little miscreant.

Of course they're weird. Which is why they fascinate and amuse us so much.
If they were normal, they wouldn't bother with us at all.

Got a call from the vet. She was able to massage the obstruction back into the stomach, and was able to remove it with a much simpler surgery. Lucy's puzzled and doesn't know where she is, but doing fine. I'll probably have her home tomorrow.

Outstanding!
Surprised Lucy doesn't know where she is. Doesn't she have GPS on her phone?

Bad cell reception.

I've leveled up as a pet owner. I can look at a $4k surgery bill and think, "wheeelp, that was not too bad..."

So far the worst any of the cats ever had was munching down some red string. It passed reasonably well in that it did not manage to loop up going through the intestines. Extraction is a story not fit for most people......!

The dogs on the other hand have sometimes been a challenge. Let is be known that a dog's stomach cannot digest a corn cob. If it was not chewed into small bits it may be many dollars to surgically remove.

We also had a Husky that over the years varied her diet with the most amazing things - Wood siding off the laundry room, bicycle tire, the never used aluminum drip pan from a new barbeque, and the most unique a thin walled glass Christmas Tree ornament that was snagged off the tree as she casually walked by....... oh yes - there was also a 12 inch tall cast / molded sugar Easter egg with a "scene" on the inside..........
Pets bring out the best in us.....
