I just bought a gorgeous 1967 F-312! Beautiful spruce top and Brazilian rosewood back and sides.
Coming from the West Coast, so should be here in about a week. I’m excited to get this, as it is the one “F” model that I don’t have.
It appears to be in excellent shape, and it was kept in a climate controlled studio and never gigged. I’ll post photos as soon as it arrives.

Big congrats RGS! If it’s the one that has been on Reverb the past week you got a really nice one. I was in touch with the seller and considered it myself as an upgrade to mine. Looking forward to your review.

Yup. That’s the one. He was very very nice to deal with and we managed to strike a deal. If it sounds as good as it looks, it’ll be a great one!

Thanks, it’s amazing. Now I know why it’s considered by many to be the best Guild 12 ever. Crisp trebles, rich mid tones and deep low tones, it has amazing action and is in beautiful condition. All this and the charisma of having been played by Tor Olson at the Fillmore, The Matrix, The Avalon and many more during the height of the Haight–Ashbury scene in San Fransisco makes this a reallly cherished instrument.

Beautiful ! Congrats on a great score. I’m glad that you jumped on it. I cherish mine. I wish Guild would bring this, the 212 and the 112 back into production. Not everyone can physically play the true jumbos.

Thanks! I really appreciate it! I agree about the smaller sizes. My first Guild was an F-212 I bought in ‘64….

Nice catch on the 312. I saw that out there too and it looked like the best condition for a 312 I've seen offered for years. Always loved the design of that guitar, and it's my favorite 12 of all times. Lovely voice, and it doesn't gobble up headroom like the big ones. Really a players guitar. They varied so much there's a sort of scavenger hunt adventure quality to hunting them down.
Happy trails.

Thanks! It’s a beauty. Has rapidly become one of my favorite 12s.

Couldn't do it in one, but here are two that cover the range… including the Michael Kerry 612-like custom build and the Takamine F-395MS

the top of your F312 if beautiful. Nice cigarette brown color from age and life.
I also like your D25 there, such a great top hue.
