I bought a D50CE new from Musiciansfriend.com some time around 2005 to 2007. I was trying to date it but the serial number doesn't fit the charts. The tag says Model D50CE, Serial number CVP000487, made in Corona, CA.

Any thoughts?

Also, I'm trying to find a sound hole cover to fit it but it's an odd size. It measures about 3,11/16" or about 93mm.

Thank you!

Thank you Hans! It falls into the 2000 to 2004 black hole in the Guild SN history on their site. Where did you find that information?

Welcome aboard FJA63!
FYI Hans is the author of the Guild Guitar Book and had access to records when Westerly and Corona closed.

Right now as far as I know Hans is the only guy who has it, or at least, is willing to make it available.

He's probably the world's foremost expert on Guild guitars. Fender never got around to updating their list with the late Westerly through Corona s/n's although it was possible to ask 'em directly for a while. They may still have the records buried somewhere i the corporate headquarters in Scottsdale AZ but I'd be surprised if you could get 'em to try to dig that info out now for a brand they don't even own anymore.

I just inherited one of these I’d like the date on. My serial number is CVP000079. Is there an extra or less value to these models cause of where and when they were built?

Welcome. In general Guild values are not driven just by age or factory or even scarcity. Condition matters and a hard shell case that fits well usually adds close to $100. If you are expecting to sell it you might look at https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?threads/fs-ft-rules-donation-link-read-this.202401/

You are also welcome to start a thread with pictures and ask about value.
