The wife goes through this a couple of times every semester. She finds that trying to sort out the tortured, convoluted, and incoherent syntax in student papers, even papers from grad students, is like wearing a pair of glasses with a really, really radically wrong prescription. I have to restrain her from poking her eyes out.
Me, I don't personally have to deal with any of this anymore. Huzzah! I just have to provide tea and sympathy for the one who does.

My seventh grade English teacher would have known the answer. I was terrible in seventh grade English, and practically all my classes. I was going through puberty anxiety, and had enough trouble controlling my erections.
