I bought recently a 1979 x-500. very good condition, amazing burst, it was also refretted at some point. Plays and sounds amazing. It looks for sure an original, just what bothers me is that it’s missing an inside label. It does have one on the back of the headstock though. It seems like someone took the inside label off since it has some residues with a typical shape of guild labels.
Ever happened to you with an x-500 or another archtop from guild?
Anyways, it’s my first post here. I read a lot of posts here and it helped me a lot to learn about guilds so thank you!
The x-500 is my second guild, I also have a 82’ Blonde starfire IV which I really really love. I love my guilds! Playability and tone are killer in those guitars.

Welcome to LTG! I've had two Guilds (one flattop, one archtop) that lost their labels. It happens. Glue isn't perfect. BTW, we love photos (great conversation starters) so feel free to post pix of your Guilds!

My 1968 X-500’s label was long gone by the time I bought it in 2001. It happens.

Hey, thanks guys. Didn’t know there is one in the body as well. But yeah, these are old guitars, i guess it makes always sense when they miss a thing or two.
anyways, here are a few photos:

Welcome to LTG!
Check with a small mirror and light, the original label might still lay inside the body somewhere like John mentioned.
