So I was looking for Guild pickups with my ‘Build a Nightbird’ project in mind... came across this. It’s a gig machine, tons of wear and tear, but it had a pair of Dynasonic 2000’s in the case, I love orange, so went for it. Know what... it has just the most lovely sound. Lots of problems, rattling low E, binding off... but for well less that the price of an oriental Starfire (not that anything wrong with those!!) this really works. Late ‘90’s Westerly last hurrah?

Good deal! Are those GFS pickups?
Yes they are.The chap I bought it from (in Maine) used the guitar a lot, and he had a problem with a low hum on the Dynasonics, so replaced with the GFS. I'd never heard of them, but they have a lovely sound, quite low output, very PAF-like (not that I have owned any real ones) and just do the job beautifully. I have the original Dynasonc 2000's in the case but haven't tested them yet.

I saw that one on Ebay (I think it was posted here too) - I guess I should have kept following it! It wasn't less than a new Starfire when first listed.

I wonder if modern Guild prices are higher in the UK?? (like most things!) (sorry just noticed you are in Belgium!) I paid less than £1000 all in, which is less that a modern Starfire V in the UK it seems. Anyway, it was love at first bite when I hooked it up. (and I'm supposed to be a classical guitarist!)
