Congrats on getting the shot!!
I actually just got a new appointment for my wife 10 minutes from home and cancelled the one from an hour away. Praise the Lord. That will be so nice to not have to drive so far.
I heard Walgreens reloads appts at midnight, so I tried it. 12:04 EST lotsa appts were available. By 12:10 all gone in my zip. Got in just in time.
I hear cvs reloads 5:45-6am EST. or 6:45-7am forgot which. This is Maryland.

Excellent! Both my wife & I were fortunate to get ours locally, but overall, it's been difficult here in Oregon as well. A friend of ours is driving three hours (round trip) to get hers in the big city tomorrow. After many phone calls & many days of trying to get a local appointment, she's a happy camper & ready to drive!

What is the percentage of people who got vaccine in the U.S. ?
Death rate remains high I see...Israel and England are having an important decrease of this figure...

France have had a bit more than 5% who got vaccine (then now does as bad as England still - but is likely to do worse soon -)...

An other thing I wonder about the U.S. is if you've got to pay for it.

Thanks

In Maryland it is free though they ask if you can show insurance to bill them. But they didn’t ask for my insurance when I got there. I am sure they will vaccinate for free regardless.

This seems a reasonable site for US numbers. https://www.usatoday.com/in-depth/g...-been-given-in-us-how-many-people/6599531002/

As of March 5, it says

About 16.7% of people in the US have received at least one COVID-19 shot. About 8.6% of people have received both doses of the vaccine.
About 25.5% of the shots distributed haven't been used yet.

In the US, if you have any kind of health insurance the vaccine is free, although there are reports of some insurance companies trying to charge an "administrative fee". If you don't have health insurance the answer is unknown but the health departments I monitor have adopted the policy of vaccinating now and figuring out who pays later. Many of them expect to absorb the costs of uninsured recipients rather than track people down and bill them. There are political developments that might change this answer but I don't see how we can discuss them without getting into politics, a topic that needs to be discussed elsewhere :)

You matter so you should get it when your phase group is called up.

Just got my first. Jersey is running "mega-sites" in each county. My county's site (Gloucester) is at Rowan College of South Jersey (formerly Gloucester County College). Quite the efficient operation - I was done and in my car heading for home in 30 minutes, including the mandatory "we'll just watch you for 15 minutes in case you start foaming at the mouth" observation period.

Lots of county law enforcement and EMS folks and National Guard keeping the show going. They expect to be running through 6,000 people per day in a couple of weeks.

3.5 million people got 1 dose here, and 2 millions got them 2 (out of 67 millions or so). Late one more time

Yep, there will always be some of those.
Another opportunity to see natural selection at work I guess...
Not sure what you mean by that, but if your comment is a swipe at those who are skeptical of putting inadequately tested chemicals in ones body, well I think that was uncalled for. My daughter was required to have the vaccine to continue her doctoral internship and she had a severe and unreported reaction. When mentioned to her pc doc at Mass General her comment was “yes, we’re starting to see some unexpected reactions”. My daughter replied “this vaccine was tested in over 70,000 people and this reaction didn’t come up once?” No comment from the doc. So please refrain from insulting people who simply want a little more information and transparency about the vaccines...remember they are fda authorized for emergency use, but NOT fda approved. My feelings: good for you if you’ve been vaccinated, good for you if not.

I will never get this vaccine. With a 99.5 survivor rate I will take my chances with meds. Better yet take your C, D and Zinc. You have a better chance of dying from the flu. Oh thats right there are no flu cases this year, it became covid.
