Hope you all have been doing well. The Mrs and I have had a few health issues but we're doing better now. No Covid so that's good. Man, those vaccines make your arm a little sore don't they. Here's something that does belong in this thread. It's very short.

That's it. Stay well.

Just to help broaden your chances of finding a D-25 the D-4 and D-26 had the same wood specs just the D-4 is stripped down with a satin finish and the D-26 had white binding

I wouldn't turn up my nose at D4 or D26 at all. Thanks.

BTW, I'm not too interested in condition. If it's still got some saddle left and the tuners still work, I can live with that.

Long time no see Tony! Glad to hear that you and the missus have put your health issues in the rear view. I can second the recommendation for a D26, but they're not that easy to find. Mine was the best D25 I've ever played.

I bought one from Scratch a long time ago. Selling it was on of my worst ideas.

Luckily, Guild made so many of them that they're not hard to find, and you can still get a nice one at a good price if you're patient.

Are you looking for a D25 arched or flat back all hog?

I have an arched back '74 D25M that I've been thinking about selling. I would consider it player condition.

It was represented to me as a mahogany-topped guitar (but it is actually spruce-topped). And it has been over-sprayed; I think that contributes to a slightly warmer/woodier voice compared to another D-25M that I've had since new. The finish has a crackled look in places, particularly across the top. There are several dings on the top.

I liked the guitar enough to have it re-fretted several years ago, just before my right shoulder began to dislike dread-sized guitars. Virtually no fret wear. I think the frets could be described as medium jumbo; they are beefier than the originals.

This guitar has been living in open D tuning for awhile, but I just tuned it up to standard. In standard, the 12th-fret string heights are 6/64 inch at the low E and 4.5/64 inch at the high e. Tuners are 18:1 Grovers, and the original tuners are in the case cubby.

The compensated saddle stands tall above the bridge; note that the bridge was shaved by a previous owner. It has an under-saddle piezo, but I recall that it doesn't work. Come to think of it, maybe that piezo transducer is contributing to the guitar's warmer sound.

Non-original molded-plastic hardshell case.

I'll provide a couple pics for now, let me know if you're interested in more. I would sell it for $700 plus shipping,

Well. That works for me. I'm in the midst of frying chicken. Back shortly. Some of the guys know me here and I'm good for it.

looks like a brazilian rosewood bridge -mines a 78 and it has that .
Those original guilds with 45 -50 years on them are spectacular guitars
you can fill the holes in the back and touch up the color with a red nailpolish

Yeah, I liked the 18:1 tuners but wished whoever installed them took a little more care doing so.

If the shipping gods are in a good mood, TonyT should receive this instrument later today. 🤞
