Most of my coworkers do not want the vaccine. They are afraid of it.
I want to get it but have been on county waiting lists for a month now to no avail.
I guess there are thousands waiting in line.

Depends on the location but at one point my local health district said they had a waiting list with 25,000 names, all eligible for phase 1B (including me). They said they expected about 1,000 doses a week and were not sure whether those could all be given as new doses or some had to be reserved for second doses. As a SWAG I think 250,000 is a good guess for the population of the health district.

I think things are getting better but I'm not going to even think about plans that depend upon being vaccinated until the summer. I look forward to being pleasantly surprised in Spring.

Finally got first Moderna dose Tuesday from health dept. 1a clinic. Been registered for over a month with them I think.
Still trying to get the wife an appt. but it’s like trying to hit the lotto , scouring the net for available appointments.
UPDATE: Got the wife booked an hour away, both shots.

Here in Massachusetts, I think I'll be fortunate if I can get a vaccination by the end of April (should have been earlier, per the Commonwealth's anticipated schedule).

For a supposedly tech-savvy state with first-rate hospitals & medical care in general, we've had a very rocky roll-out of Covid vaccination scheduling & distribution. Similar to what lungimsam said above, getting a vaccination appointment in Massachusetts is essentially a game of chance. :cautious:

Here in AZ where I went they seemed to have their act together. Took about 45 minutes from checkin to being given the go ahead to go home. Maybe doing it at 5:30 in the morning helped. Shot #2 is set for Tuesday next - again at 5:30AM. One efficient thing they did here was use the wait time after the injection (to make sure no immediate reaction) to schedule your follow up. Much better than fighting through the web for the initial appointment.

Southwest Medical Associates here in Las Vegas now has the Moderna vaccine and they are scheduling appointments. Having difficulty with their new software and website and have been locked out since it's inception, but once I get on there, I'll be able to schedule with them and I'm almost at 90 days post positive test, which they require. Looks like I'll be getting even MORE immunity!! (y)(y)

UT (or, at least Salt Lake County) seems to have gotten its act together after the initial vaccine roll out debacle...

I logged in to the county health dept's website and had my first appointment scheduled within 5 min of becoming eligible. Got my first dose of Moderna in a drive thru on Wednesday... my appt was at 11, but they asked that you arrive 15 min early. I pulled into the parking lot at 10:45, and was on my way home at 11:20. I'll get my second dose 31 Mar...

Yesterday, UT expanded eligibility to include those 50+ years... which would include nearly everyone that participated in the jam I attended pre-covid. Hoping we'll be able to jam again soon!

Not knowing when I might get the vaccine, about 4 months ago I signed up for the Johnson & Johnson clinical trials.

They finally called me today! Sorry, you're a little late, I got my shots last month...

Anne has been participating in J & Js two-shot trial. She THINKS she got the real vaccine, based on side effects. Utah just opened the vaccine up to her age group yesterday... I suggested that she ask to be "unblinded" next month, so she can get vaccinated (if need) before we want to travel this summer.

New vaccine discovery here, just stay clear the fk away from all people. It works ;]

Buy most everything online, better deals on bulk anyway.

Got all these driveholic neighbors who can't stop driving to town. Twice weekly, different city so different stuff even. One gets our coffee beans, drops them off and I Paypal him, never see anyone. Another neighbor gets 1/2 & 1/2, chips, crackers, veggies, newspapers for fire starting, gasoline if I need it, I keep 15 gallons on hand for generator and whatnot if needed.

He leave the groceries in the car in coolers, and I leave cash in his car.

Most people know better than to come over, call first. No surprises please, like showing up with total stranger to show your house or garden off, people showing up in the yard with a stripped lug nut in hand, or whatever. Call 1st to tell me about your visit or your problem.

No one absolutely no one comes in the house any more.

This cuts down on cleaning, de cluttering, and knowing noisy people won't invade your space is fantastic. Also keeps 3 yr old grandchild out of the house during this difficult time in human development, where they absolutely destroy everything or try to electrocute themselves in some never ending cry for attention that seems to survive well into adulthood unfortunately.

No shared meals, food goes a lot farther.

And more guitar playing time ;]

I figured out a way to get rid of excess recycling without going to town. I ship it out as packing materials.

That means a staging area and a 2 week acclimation period for everything, before entering your zone, right.

Well then, your coworkers will be the ones who continue to risk dying if they get the virus. Get the vaccine, and all indications are that your risk of ending up in the hospital, on a ventilator, & dying goes down to zero.

So glad to have received my first shot yesterday!
