Does anyone have photos of the famed arch press used to make the Maple Jumbo's etc?

Looks like they cleaned it up a little and installed new stainless "facade."

In that recent picture, I'm imagining the caption like a bubble out of Ren's mouth:

"Yeah, I think I'll polish up that press a bit... it's nearly as old as I am. :)"

I now think you're right and take back what I said. In the first photo the control box looked to me like it was attached to the press, but I believe that I was mistaken. I also realize that my choice of the word "definitely" was a mistake.

Thanks for the correction.

Those are definitely two different presses in the photos from MLBob and GardMan.
No, it's the same, in the first picture the control unit just sits right next to it on that table. In that first picture above next to Ren she is not yet installed but came that way from New Hartford to Oxnard. That heated 30 ton Wabash press was in Westerly in service since 1985 according to the Guild webpage.

And here in action in Oxnard:

Here's a view from the back as she looks today:

Man, there were a lot of superb acoustics processed through that machine! One of the most under-appreciated being the DCE5.

You can see the "ship to KMC" on the front of the controls. That's Kaman Music.... i.e., the New Hartford factory.

That arched back makes my D25M like an echo chamber! It's like a tonal parabolic mirror focused on the soundhole.

And nobody since cared removing it in NH or in Oxnard, you still see it in the new pictures on the Guild webpage! A nice reminder from the past! I guess nobody in Oxnard knows what KMC was anyway... So that press was most probably in Corona after Westerly and later in Tacoma and from there to NH and back to California. So it's the 5th Guild factory she sees!

By the way, here is a picture when she was in use in the New Hartford factory:

I didn't find pictures from the earlier factories with the press.

I think it's really cool that Oxnard has chosen to show the F-512 Maple (F-412 :) ) with the historic Wabash press that's been making these things since time forgotten. I really hope CMG plans a new Let's Meet Guild event (or something) so we can meet the new stewards of Guild. They seem to really "get it."

I don’t get that vibe from them. I’d live a LMG so they could change my mind.

I think it's because we're not really in touch with the builders. You'll never get a warm, fuzzy about things when you talk to Marketing people. Having said that, the guys in New Hartford were unbelievably "get it" kinds of folks. Let's hope for the best, GAD.
