I've been thinning the herd lately and sold one of my Telecasters and saw this.
It's not the upper line BroadKaster Junior but the Electromatic Centerblock Jr.
At one third the price of a Broadcaster I figure ...why not. Plus the Broadcaster doesn't come in this color.
So much for thinning the herd with this purchase..more of a replacement.

Has Gretsch stopped putting "Electromatic" on the headstock? Hmm...

Cool guitar, though!

I feel you; it’s almost impossible to ‘thin the herd’. Looks like you made a great choice. What are your impressions? How’s the fit and finish, PU’s, etc.

Yup, a few years ago. I think they look cleaner and so much better now! So much so that I bought an FSR Electromatic 12-string.

Of course. Now people can feel like they own a Gretsch that isn't branded as a "lesser Gretsch" by the Electromatic label. It's the same thing that Guild did.

They put Electromatic right below Gretsch on the pickguard though.
Don't really care if it plays and sounds good...Hec I can always put in a set of Filtertrons if I'm not liking the Broad'trons (or whatever they call them on the Electromatics) I think the Broad'Trons are a bit hotter than the Filtertrons so 'that' Gretsch sound may be a bit different.
We'll see after I give it a spin.
I should get it this week - so I'll post impressions for those interested.

Hec my Guild OM240E sounds and feels great - the cheaper versions of many guitars are getting better - certainly some better then others.
Hopefully the Gretsch will be a fun axe.
