Shocking, I know, but this came across my attention (Thanks Blake!) and once it was there it stayed there. If the seller is to be believed, and the pics seem to back it up, it's mint, it's an X2000, it was from NAMM in 1992, and it's serial number CL000001. I'd defer to Hans (as always) as to the provenance, but a 1992 Guild price list from NAMM is accompanying it which shows this and the X4000 I have as being part of "The Royal Collection" which I'd never heard of before.

Also, I think I'm done buying for a while. Getting to be time for a purge!

Wowza! This is a beauty! Looks a lot like mine, except for the knobs and the slightly different red. How do they call the color?
Can't wait for your inspection report 🤓

I couldn't even begin to tell you what that color is. The catalog or price list mentions "woodgrain colors" but I'm not sure I've ever seen that color before, assuming the color is accurate. He described it as a magenta. We shall see.

Holy guacamole that's nice! Very regal and royal for sure. Who needs a Bluesbird if you have that? Congrats!! And, as always, looking forward to the review.

The color reminds me of a blackberry dessert my grandma used to prepare for me, with lots of cream 😋 memories....

Purdy but really reminds me of the early 90s. Some of the colours don’t date that well. I had one of those blueburst takamine acoustics...

Be happy to take something off your hands GAD. ;)

Congrats, GAD. That's a nice score and very interesting Guild heritage! I would love know more Hans knows about the "Royal Collection."

Which one is the X4000 again? The green one?

This is one of the two X4000s I have. They are also the only ones I've ever seen:

Ah. I was expecting it to be one with the same body style as the X2000. That X4000 is like an 80s Ferrari!

That is a beauty! And the case looks like it was meant for Songbird, too. There is a space for Volume & Tone pots in the padding.

Come on, you posted both before! (I hope you don't mind that I repost it...)

By the way, it's only 13 years ago (!!!) that Hans posted: "As much as I like to share what I know about these guitars, you're not going to trick me into typing out a chapter of the new book. I can tell you though that both the Liberater Elite and that prototype had a carved maple top. " It's like the Corona lockdown, it seems never come to an end...I wonder when volume II will finaly be published!

Oh, and congratulations to CL000001 !!!
