What’s with the lack of serial number info past 1997 or so?

Hans book has the correct info until 1977. The Guild list is fine until about end of 1979 when the problems start. Many issues from there until 1997 when the list stops. Ralf

    D25 - CE Serial Number

A Corona made guitar would not have had a Westerly label! Corona used a different serial number system, the D-25 there had the prefix CPM. Can you post a picture of the label and the guitar? I don't know about a "CE" serial number for a D-25. In year 2000 the D-25 still had AD serial numbers...

What’s with the lack of serial number info past 1997 or so?

Hence we are all waiting for his Volume II ! In the meantime the only help is that LTG members who care write down any serial number Hans dated in the last 20 years, so creating own serial number lists from 1977 till 2005 helps helping others in the meantime until Hans publishes the records. I...

    Gibson Les Paul value??

As Guildedagain correctly said, it's very thin at the position where the crack is (as it's towards the edge), so when you look into the potentiometer cavity there might be no mahogany left and you would only see the maple cap. In any way there is much more maple left compared to an acoustic top...

    Guild D-55 Neck Issue

That nut moved quite a bit towards the bass side! So something hit it quite a bit out of place! No wonder the lacquer cracked. You also see the point of impact at the upper end of the neck binding (no red arrow there). I think the nut needs to be taken out and fixed at the correct position...

    NGD soon...first glimps...

New Hartford at it's best in 2012! Will be a perfect companion to my 2010 GSR F-30 Rosewood. Also love the faux alligator and green "silk" case! So much better compared to the Orpheum cases... Ralf

There are/were actually 3 of the 20 available currently in Europe and the one I bought was the most "plain" one...The pictures are pretty dark, I hope it looks "better" in reality. They are hard to photograph, the backs are so shiny! The other two had other disadvantages to me... Here are the...

    Difference between F412 and F512?

Not "Oxnards" fault, the marketing guys sit at CMG in Santa Monica I believe! So you march to the wrong location... Ralf

Wouldn't you see the yellow color from titebond afterwards? Titebond stays yellow and not crystal clear. https://www.fine-tools.com/titebond.html Ralf

Trying to support local stores. (well "local" as in Germany) Sure! I used it to negotiate them down! Actually the store had the TRC already fixed, the pictures were from November last year. It's a one owner guitar from a late owner. Pretty much like new. Will be here tomorrow. Looks like only...

    Gibson Les Paul value??

Tom, there is nothing you can cleat as that is a maple cap on a hog body. Does not have any stability issue on such a guitar. Usually happens not from dried out wood (well maybe in a combination) but from pushing hard on the case and through the two knobs on the pots. Open the back panel and...

    Gibson Les Paul value??

In Germany one sold for more. If in good condition I'd guess more like $4,500 in average. Current Reverb offers are for $4,499, $5,400, $5,700 and $5,800 with the most expensive one $8,500: https://reverb.com/item/39570213-gibson-les-paul-25-50-anniversary And a Les Paul signed one for only...
