I've owned 2 of them... first one was when v4 first came out and you could still buy the older revision (I've own a few of Mike's pedals over the last 20 years... his Beano Boost and KoT are currently on my board.). I got into some financial trouble and sold off most of my pedals but then repurchased this one in the picture.
As soon as I bought my first, I put my name back on the list, did the same when I bought the current one. Once to the top, you are on the top... you don't have to buy right away. If you email them, they will check on your status.
The wait is ridiculous, but it is said to be because they are not mass produced, Mike and a couple staff build most of the product line. If you want quicker, get his foreign made single channel Prince of Tone OR the new MXR Duke of Tone.
These are Marshall "Bluesbreaker" pedal clones with Mike's typical improvements and enhancements. Definitely my favorite grit pedal after using TS9 & TS10 from the 80s on.
Both mine are standard config, I use to us the OD on yellow and Distortion on Red. With my Custom 68 Deluxe, I clicked them down to boost for Yellow and OD for the Red side... then put a mini Fuzzface FFM3 behind it.
[edit] no those aren't my settings! I think I snapped that shot when I was playing with the blender to the right... I use my board for bass and guitar, so I put the Beano, KoT and Fuzz in a blender to not lose all my low end
Here is a 16 year old middle of the night audio doodle with my first KoT and a Nano Small stone direct into my soundcard with some cut&paste drum loops. It was a night off while a grave yard NOC worker for Vonage... too much evening coffee after sleeping all day use to keep me up jamming into headphones while the wife slept just the other side of the wall behind me!
Obviously it sounds better on guitar and in front of a tube amp and with a better player
