I can't even imagine how many spares you have stashed away. I bet your Telecaster drawers are also just as extensive.
They used to be quite extensive, but it is (was) my business of making guitars complete and working again and since we're talking 'old' parts, I am faced with the fact that there's no unlimited source where you can get that kind of stuff. So, while I still have a lot of vintage Fender, Gibson, Gretsch and other brand parts, my stock is slowly shrinking. That's OK though ......... I won't live forever!

Here's a quick look at the vintage parts boxes:

PartsBoxes.jpeg

The left side is mainly parts for electric guitars, while the right side is mainly vintage tuners.
I need to find a drawer for the plastic bin in front of the Matchless Amp that's holding harp tailpieces. Man, I wish I had more drawers!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

At least your parts are organized. I just have stuff in boxes, some of which I didn't discover I had until recently.

”Wow” just doesn’t cover it.
I knew when I first came on board at LTG I was at risk of learning ”stuff”. But, the depth and breadth of the various interest levels and pursuit of the field has continuously impressed me on this site. Fat dumb and happy, for decades, I have taken for granted so many things about the guitars I’ve banged on, and never would have bothered to wonder about an acoustic bridge !
Do we have to wait a whole month to get to another drawer ? Can’t we move along at a weekly pace?
Do not under estimate the appeal of this stuff.

Remember when we had to wait "6-8 weeks for delivery"?

Remember when we had to wait to see The Wizard of Oz when it was on once a year?

Remember having to get up and walk over to change the channel?

Remember when there was maybe seven channels if you lived near a city?

Remember waiting a month for the next comic book in the series?

I don't either.

We, the Society for the Abolition of Patience soon (SAPs) demand MORE DRAWERS NOW!

Just saw this thread - Wow, super interesting & fun! Time momentarily stopped when I cast my gaze on that bin full of harp tailpieces. Thanks so much Hans for sharing!

Wow! I wish I had know about you when I was searching for a replacement bridge for a 1974 Guild 512 I am restoring! I AM still in search of the binding used on the necks of the 512s. Here's a pic of what I'm looking for. Any chance you can help me out on that?

Drawer of the Month - Bushings:

Probably not as exciting as some of the other drawers, but I had to look for a specific bushing today and I realized again how important these small parts can be for owners of a vintage instrument; so many different ones were produced during a period when none of that stuff was standardized.

How are you keeping up with which drawers you've already posted? Easy at the beginning, but I know I'd never remember past about drawer #6.

And that’s a whole different storage area from the first picture, with stacked drawers & multiple trays within each drawer - Wow!
