Aw man, I'm so glad I caught his last tour. This to me is one of the finest songs ever written.

Totally agree with you Sal, I absolutely love Early Morning Rain, but I also absolutely hate what he did to it in that Gord's Gold remake. The strings & all the other crap - please! His original version on the United Artists album is soooo much better, imho. To hear Gordon at his very best, put the Gord's Gold remakes in the trash & seek out his original work!

His music was the first stuff I learned to play, so I guess I'm pretty picky about it. Saw him twice in the '70s in a small venue - unfortunately the second time he was drunk & the performance was quite forgettable, but the first time he was totally on his game. Hard to even measure what his music meant to me in those early years. Thank you, Gordon.

GL was the reason I picked the guitar back up again after 45 years. If asked who my music inspiration comes from, I can rattle off ten or fifteen names, like anybody else - but, GL is always number one. Saw him three times. Would like to have seen him more earlier in his career. Thank you, Gordon !

His music was at the beginning and end of every trip home to Canada… those tunes will haunt me forever. RIP Gordy.

He was one of the biggest influences in my music, and I still play many of his songs. May he rest in peace...
Well said. They don't make music like his anymore. He left behind a great legacy of songs. There's a lot of great "album music" that wasn't on the radio as well. Back in the day that's where we all found the hidden gems! The sign of a truly great artist. I'll always Tag Along Gord...

Well, shit. Yes, I swore there. This one stings, a lot. One of the best there ever was when it came to writing timeless melodies and poetic lyrics. He had one heck of a life. RIP Gordon.

I wanted to post a link to my favorite G.L. song, but then realized that would be impossible - he wrote too many great ones. I'd have trouble paring the list down to a dozen.

RIP, Gordon, and thank you for your music.
Rick, I did the same. Started to list my favorites and was very quickly overwhelmed with so many great songs. What a great legacy to have!! (y)
