Does this bridge look modified to you?

I couldn't tell you, without having seen some comparisons of similar model/year. However, I will say that the (never modified) bridge of my '72 D-35 is a good 1/16" (in some cases, 3/32") shorter than any of my later-build Guilds

Yes, some material has been taken from the front end of the bridge to be able to lower the saddle.

And there you have it!! And also, know that the way acoustics work is the down pressure on the saddle by the strings which drives the soundboard. So a low, or shallow break angle means compromised drive or sound. That saddle is low, which generally means a bad neck angle, and lowering the saddle has happened to compensate. To help the break angle someone has taken a bit off the front/soundhole edge of the bridge to create more break angle. Which will help the sound, but if and when it needs a neck reset, it will also need a new bridge. Beware!!

But it would also mess with the intonation to tilt it, right? And if you are going to tilt it, wouldn't tilting it the other way do more to increase the break angle (at least relative to the nut)? Tis is on a birth year guitar and it's a model I really like. But given it might need $1,000 of work, the asking price is way high.
