Can’t believe I bought another one. It’s Ralf’s fault.

There was a 2009 D-55 antique burst, very close to mint for sale. It’s a New Hartford manufacture. I made an offer and it was accepted. This one for sure has red spruce braces. Ralf told me that the Tacoma builds did not. So now I can compare the sound and manufacture differences. This is what it looks like. My wife was a little upset but I blamed it on Ralf. (Of courose I’m kidding about blaming Ralf) B975981F-43A6-4F47-B00B-20CBDBD83DEB.jpeg

I'm so sorry...o_O:love:
But I didn't say I'm 100% sure Tacoma made D-55 used sitka spruce bracing, it was just strange that only for some specific models the adi bracing was specified.
But NH used only adi bracing as fas as I know. Congratulations, that is a great looking NH D-55! I love the antique burst.
And now it's a hard decission which one is "better" and which one to keep, or even to keep both? Keep us updated on your journey! Will be interestinh which one you prefer.
Oh yes, joining LTG can lead to severe GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome)!

This is indeed true! When I first joined here, I had my '73 D50, '59 X175, and '72 P-Bass.

Congrats on the new addition. I had an '09 for a while that was a very early production New Hartford model.

You will have to keep both the Tacoma and New Hartford D55s because that tiny difference be needed -- I am sure!!

I was kind of hoping you were going to snap it up. It was about 7 or 8pm on the west coast that I saw the “your offer was accepted“ Flash on my iPad. I bought it off of reverb. There will be no 3 peat. Anything from now on I see will be passed along here.

I might wish I had!, but you’ll see what I ended up with in my NGD, similar but not as much of a gem.
