Not a serious question! ;) The correct answer is "I'd sit down on that Guild stool and play all of them until my fingers bleed." :D :D

Lots of different woods represented here, but all in Guild form! I cannot lose! :) Truth is, I was just admiring the recent additions to the herd as well as the original member of the herd (the F-512). Thought I'd share:

On the left is the F-412 "Special Reserve" from Tacoma. This has a very uncommon (for an F-412) red spruce top, along with the early GSR block markers and G-shield. The faceplate is a beautiful piece of either rosewood (likely Madagascar) or cocobolo. The tiger-stripe maple on this is to die for.

Center is the GSR F-40 from New Hartford that's a cocobolo body (and faceplate, I think). GSR appointments including the tuner buttons and 12th-fret G-shield inlay. I think the top is a heavily silked Sitka, but I'm not really sure. It's an orange color, much more so than I'm used to...

Right is my trusty F-512 (stock) from Tacoma. Still rules the roost! Indian rosewood and Sitka top. What looks like bear-claw in the picture is just reflection, by the way.

And, of course, peeking back at you through the mirror is my chrome dome. Considering embossing "Guildy" across the forehead of that clown.

Enjoy!

There's a first world problem if there ever was one!

I'll admit that I have a mighty hard time choosing between my D25-12, JF65-12, and F512. They're all so damned good, and thankfully, I don't need to sell any of them!

Always the middle one. Not a huge 12 string fan. That's why I'm selling one right now. Honestly since it arrived almost 3 years ago... it's only been played maybe 10 times by either of us. So the middle one for sure. You DID ask, right??

:D :D I figured a lot of folks would answer as you did, Tom! :D Not everyone digs the 12ers. What are you selling, Tom?

Sandy, totally agree. First world problem, and, frankly, an embarrassment of riches.

It's a Martin GPC12PA4 12-string. Bought almost 3 years ago. Don thought he wanted a 12 and I didn't disagree. Come to find out neither of us like a 12 that much and it's been played like 12 times. Like new. Once I get my Reverb ad together I'll link to here. It's a LOVELY guitar it's just that 12 strings are 6 too many for us.

I'd probably pick the F40, just because I don't play 12-strings that much. But, really, how could you go wrong?

See Tom, the mistake you made was not buying a Guild 12 string. They really are the best.

I'd grab the F-512. I've heard so much but never had one to try. The Las Vegas guitar center had one when I was there last, but it was WAY up at the roof top row and I didn't feel like making my relatives wait for me to try a guitar I had no intention of buying. I think to price tag was near 4K.

Tom,

That Martin is nice, but it's not the sound I want with a 12 string. It could be the same with you two.

I'm picking up the GSR F-40 and playing it all day long. That body shape produces some exquisite tone!

Figured you'd say that, GG! :) It is a great body, and the cocobolo is a very nice substitute for rosewood (well, not substitute, really, but you know what I mean).

I'll post some more juicy bits from the collection next time I put them out. Want to get them some stand time before winter humditty sets in.

Well, at LMG IV I could not seem to put Kim's "returned" F40 down, so I'd guess that one!

Funny this should come up, took out my F47R (same family as the F40, sorta) the other day and found it
very "bright" sounding...DR Veritas strings from last April. Not dead, just bright. Then I looked at the box and
they were Light, 12-53's. Gonna put some D'Addario XT mediums on her this afternoon, hoping to get some
manly bass back in 'er. I must have put the Lights on to build up my puny digits before Kaufman Kamp, had
slacked off for a while :cautious:
