So, I've mentioned a few times that I've commissioned quite a few Custom Built acoustics from a Builder in North Carolina named Richie Crowder.. He does really fine work. Igot an email from him recently that said he and his family have contracted Covid so that's put him out of commission for a bit. I hope he recovers fully and returns to good health.
I saw that a Music Store in Indiana called Billy O's Dynamite Music had a used Richie Crowder guitar they were selling. It's a beautiful Sinker Mahogany piece and I'll post some pics when I get it. I have another of Richie's on hand now. It is a D 18 type Dread with shaded top and it sounds superb. I've posted pics of that before.
The new Crowder guitar caused me to have to rearrange my guitar room a bit and while doing so, I pulled out a few guitars to play, some of which I hadn't played in quite a while. I played my Crowder Mahogany D18, a guitar made by a Wisconsin Luthier made out of ancient Kairi wood, a Martin D 18 Custom Shop I recently posted about and a Martin D 35 I just received in trade yestrday from a friend and fellow LTGer for a beautiful Martin 000 Custom shop that I wasn't playing much.
Then I spotted myHank Williams Jr. G-45 so I pulled that out. I'd forgotten what a big, rich sound that guitar has. It has the beautiful Maple tiger striped neck and headstock, the arched, nicely figured Maple back, Spruce top etc. I was thinking at one time of selling but now I'd have to say why??? It's one of the nicer Guild Maple guitars that I own.
So, although I berate myself for being so out of control when it comes to guitars, it's days like this that make me feel happy and thankful that I am.
Like I said, I'll post pics of the Crowder Sinker Mahogany when I receive it. The pics look pretty spectacular.
That's all folks.
