I get so much inspiration on this board. 🤪 I just ordered an orange Surfliner, and a Bigsby B5. I never buy new guitars, and I never mod guitars, but an HSS Strat with a Bigsby for $600 looks like a good fun for the money.

Read my mind... this thing just begs for a B5. But I think I'll do orange. I have a "blue" one already...

If you go in through the Guild site to the Surfliner, then click on the link for its "heritage" (is it really silent?), and THEN
click on the link for the demo, the young lady is in deed playing the guitar. She definately has chops, and is much easier on the eyes than the kid they had playing the other electrics, but alas no "surf."

She is playing through a Marshall head, pretty much clean, but what is that device sitting on the head...I know I've seen it before...I presume it to be some sort of cab simulator or "power brake"? Once again, she is very good, I can imagine she must be a studio cat...;)

Yes, Guild finally released the previously protected pages to the public.

Plus most media outlets run the story today, just two examples:

That video is really silent, I guess it is running at NAMM show on a big screen, hence no tone necessary.

Unfortunatelly CMG's marketing department did not correct the previously mentioned incorrect instruction drawing on the webpage...

No further info on the new DeArmond Aerosonic Single Coil pickups.

And the young guitar player in the demo video is Sophie Giulliani who has a lot of own videos on YouTube.

"Decades in the Making"? They probably just contracted with the Indonesian factory and asked them to design and manufacture something different than Guild currently offers. Marketing-speak... harumph!

Well, it is really Sixties, with a very strong Kawaii/Teisco-vibe...so they had to copy something from Japan of that era...
Its funny to see what they show they took from each previous Guild design!
The Starfire Little Bucker I get at least...

Sorry for the Vere here, but Ms. Guiliani is clearly a lady of distinction and taste...playing a Suhr tele on Duke Levine inspired material:

Back to our regularly scheduled thread material, just wanted to show the level of the personnel that Guild is grabbing for their demos ;)

Unfortunatelly the graphics designer screwed up, note the real orientation of the switches vs. what they show in the "manual"!
Since when is "- = off" and "o = on" ??? Isn't that always zero and one, so "0 = off" and "1 = on"?
Proofreading those days... 🤦‍♂️

Ralf
Because graphics people no longer need to know basic computer code, now that everything has a graphical interface. They don’t know that 0 for off and 1 for on goes back to binary code.

Indonesia. Where else could you make them that cheap?

index.php
Its all about how they’re spec’d. My Fender Jim Adkins Tele was “crafted in Indonesia”, and it is as good as any US made Fender (non-custom shop). It also retails for more than these. So the factories will meet whatever your price point is and are very capable of some fine work.

Guild is splashing out with posts on FB about the Surfliner!! The video and static photos as well.

"Introducing Guild’s first all-new solid body electric guitar shape in almost 40 years – this is the Surfliner.
Named after the Pacific Surfliner train that runs up and down the California coastline, this new offset electric pays homage to Guild’s new Southern California heritage with three dynamic, new transparent finishes: Catalina Blue, Sunset Orange, and White Sage.
Debuting all-new Dearmond Aerosonic middle and neck single coil pickups paired with our LB-1 bridge pickup, the Surfliner offers easy access to 7 different pickup combinations in the HSS format.
U.S. Street Price: $449"
