Here is my late 60s 16w SANO 3nGSzC4.jpeg
Cool Sano! I have it’s slightly newer cousin, an early 70s Sano 160R. I absolutely love it! It’s my go-to for most things. I also have a 1966 Fender Bassman head and 2x12 cab that I also love. I don’t have a picture of that one handy, though. Here’s the Sano with my X-500.

That amp and this guitar with the DeArmond are time travelers.

Well, in my insanity, I now have this:

And in my insanity I got this - a Hagström PA-set - mixer - spring reverb unit - amp - space for tape-delay unit - all packed in that traditional light blue Hagström casing - paid 50€ including delivery - and the guy left after buying 500€ worth of stuff from me.

I consider that a win-situation. The new piece occupies less space plus I have 450€ more money 😂

I have not tested it yet - but all parts are there except for two knobs - and all I really was interested in is the reverb unit.

One of these weeks I'm going to fire it up and see & hear what's up.

I shall make some more pics, too - this one is from the seller.

Nice!
Transitional head or just new cab?

It's a Mutt. Actually a '68 drip-edge black-line (BF transition) AB-165. I re-tolexed the cab in blonde, added the wheat grill cloth and the vintage badge, and converted the hum-balance back to the BF bias circuit.

The amp was all original inside, even had all the factory electrolytics. In order the keep the amp looking factory fresh, I re-stuffed the factory caps with new ones.

It's a super rare amp...for a reason. It totally abuses the 6BQ5 tubes. No idea what Leo was thinking.

"EL84" is the British name for the American 6BQ5. Nobody in the US called them EL84s until the AC30 became trendy again in the 90's
