I drink PBR which is far superior to BADweiser, but I've been trying different stuff....thanks to you!

Saranac, Ommegang, Middle Ages, Syracuse Suds Factory....all the good locals for now.

But an ice cold PBR is perfect after yard work.

Saranac Amber and IPA's are yumbo!

and BC, PBR is quite affordable. hmmmmm. maybe it's my stepping stone beer to IPA :)

I find most high ABV content in beer to be strong bitter-tasting, therefore not tasty (for me), however, this one is quite smooth. In this case, I sip rather than guzzle. Remember, it's the taste.

More likely to Bud Light. But from there it's a pretty easy transition to mouthwash, at least.
Taste is subjective. I worked at AB, loved it, treated well they were sad to see me go but I can't drink a rice beer...just rips me apart. Rolling Rock...pretty much same wort

Different beers for different guitars.

Light beers for light playing on lighter guitars.

To attack a dread properly you need a high zoot beer, something beyond Michelob or Miller High Life "the champagne of beers".

Grunge players would be well served with Oly if you're trying to re-create that cheap beer sound.

Malt Liquor when you need to ramp it up, Colt 45, do they still make that? And the old standby from my younger days, Olde English 800.

I actually snuck two 40oz of Olde E into a movie theater to see Let There Be Rock - circa 1980 - downed them both and rode my motorcycle home afterwards, taking back streets... That night, I found out you can weave on a motorcycle.

Another drunken lesson of riding, this one courtesy of $8 shots of Laphroaig - 15 years ago - stopping too fast for those ridiculous stop signs can make you fall over on a big tall BMW 1000cc offroad bike ;]

I guess I've become a beer snob; I can't stand stuff like Bud, PBR, Miller, etc. any more, I only like a nice IPA now for the most part. I did have a draught XX at the Mexican restaurant the other night, OK well I had 2 of them.

I'm ok with the blended grains/high rice content. Given a choice though, prefer barley or even corn. My favorite "casual drinking" beer (malt liquor at 6% ABV actually), King Cobra, is an AB brand and was originally 100% corn when it was first released back around '84: corn was only grain listed on label. By around 2000 or so though it had switched to "mixed grains" which Wiki says was barley and corn, but new labels introduced a couple of years ago don't list any ingredients at all.

AB's website Tapintoyourbeer.com shows rice in the mix as of 2020.

The German Weissens taste funny to me though, literally "rusty".

I had a doctor who motivated me by saying I could lose weight now or I could lose it later when my legs were amputated because of diabetes. She was exaggerating but I did lose weight anyway and have managed to avoid a diabetes diagnosis for at least a decade. I learned that there was no point in consuming calories unless I enjoyed them. Same thing applies if you want to be nice to your liver.

You should drink what tastes good and what you enjoy. We're just letting you know what tastes good to us :)

And I don't mind paying $10 for a 6 pack of really good ale, vs $10 for a 12 pack of sh*t. The madness has to stop.
Still, I think my new floor is Stella, which is not really macro-swill and I can get a case at Sam's Club for $20. And it tastes good.
But I think I plan to go more to IPAs, or at least Pale Ale, like Sierra or Dale's. Both of those will be a good level up and quite enjoyable.
Plus, it takes less of them to get a fun buzz on, which also is a benefit. Drink less, but drink better. etc.

My guess is Sam's and Costco both have a decent IPA that's affordable.

Several very good breweries -- I'm not sure whether to call them microstills or not :) -- have popped up in the Worcester area in the last 10 years. My favorites are the IPAs produced by these, most especially Wormtown brewery. They have a "Don't Worry" and a "Be Hoppy" IPA, both yummy. Be Hoppy's pretty well known.

Anyway, as Fro said, Woody, try 'em and find what you like.

Personally, I'm not into the craft "sour" beer trend. Can't stand 'em actually. But I'm sure you can find local microbrews that you like.

I prefer the bitterness of an IPA, and I like it ice-cold.

To me, the new fruity beers are no more than beer-infused soda pop.
Figure I’d start it all out with a Michigan brew. 😀

all day ipa. They had unrivaled ipa too.

The Dragoon IPA is outstanding, and amongst the West Coast IPAs, so is Lagunitas' Little Sumpin' Sumpin', and Sierra Nevada's Torpedo IPA. Founders Centennial is great too, and a little maltier than your typical IPA. As I mentioned earlier, the Mosaic Promise single hop ale is great also. It's a little lower ABV at 5.5%, but can be a bit hard to find. My local beer distributor hasn't had any for a while now.
Sandy, little grocery up street has Torpedo. Will try that next. Thanks for tip!
