I shall measure it at the 12th fret and report back.
Mine came outta the box right at the spec 5-6/64ths on low E to 4-5/64ths on the high, with spec PB extra lights, .010-.047, EJ-15's.
Yours is same era, so this '97 Guild Gallery article with action specs is correct for our guitars:
(Note link corrected as noted in post #17)
I've come to the conclusion that those tops respond much better (mine at least does) to that (or even lower) tension than anything heavier unless severely tuned down. I think silk'n'steel/bronze strings really bring out the sweetness in maple.
It has a bit of bridge lift, and a slight bit of bellying, and I can see the outlines of the braces in the top, it's that thin.
[EDIT: I said: "
Also, they have "floating X" top bracing," but
F65ce's DO NOT have floating X, they have Standard X per '99 GG specs page].
Apologies, but wanted to make sure your guitar is also accurately presented.
Gorgeous piece, though. Got the final/best pre-amp, too, that's a plus. As is case.
Dang almost makes me wish I had a little more room to spare around here, I'd probably be talking to you.
