I have to reshoot it because one of the saddles wasn't level and reflected the light weirdly (and I hadn't intonate it properly), but I've been looking for one of these for a long time.

While I did review the Not-Roy-Buchanan T250 review, that one had EMGs, the awful pointy headstock, and gold hardware. This one looks SO much nicer to me and actually has enough differences that I'll likely do another writeup on it.

Here's the Not-Roy-Buchanan for comparison:

Yeah, I like the new one! The headstock is great, and I really like the neck.

Cool! When it comes to solidbody guitars, I'm definitely a T-type player, so I'm looking forward to the review and comparisons.

With the chrome hardware, could that be A Roy Buchanan?

I had a T-200 with the Roy TRC. Most definitely gold hardware. Virtually identical to the cream/gold "not-Roy" GAD has pictured, droopy headstock and all.

That headstock is soooooo much better looking than the droop-snoot headstock.

I'm with Steve! I know that Grot likes the "foot" headstock, but I prefer the "cakeknife".

It actually has a SN towards the end of the run, so I’d say no. According to the ‘87 catalog chrome was standard and gold was an option but we all know how accurate catalogs can be.

I think the foot would be better but I like the cake knife a lot.

Either or is pretty much OK with me. My Pilot basses have both kinds, and the string pull is good with both.

Seems like a Guild made T type is the best of both worlds!

I definitely like the chrome hardware better than the gold! And I've always been fan of black guitars - what a great looking guitar!

Really looks great, but what this with the body shape change? A buddy of mine had no 18 which was the original tele body shape. My no 27 has the smaller shape and this now is the tele shape again???

I noticed the horn was different - what else is? I don't have an eye for teles.

Nice find GAD!
I'm always amazed at how you come across these unusual finds! Years ago it was easy to find them on eBay. Not so these days.

I'm curious to know if the bridge pickup is stock. I have a Guild Dimarzio stacked humbucker pickup in Tele bridge mount that has a black plastic cover with "Guild" in white on top. I had always assumed it came from a chromed out T250.

As a matter of note I had a black "chrome" T250 with offset pointy headstock and EMG's years ago. Unfortunately my record and photo keeping wasn't something I took seriously and so I can't provide SN or pictures.

The front upper bout where te strap pin is is shorter and the cutaway is also a little bigger and the horn a bit smaller than the regular tele shape. I‘d like to know the history of these 2 different shapes.

From my experience with a T200 and T250 the T200 body is much closer in shape to a Tele than the T250. The T250 has a smaller cutaway horn and the hump on the non-cutaway side is lower.

I'm told the Guild body has additional sculpting on the back to lessen the "plank" feel against your body that a Tele has. However I never had a Tele but did have a T200 and T250 at the same time.

Exactly. I believe Hans once told me that the first few were called T-200 and then it was renamed T-250. so how does a late T-250 have the earlier T-200 body shape?

So the body is very clearly a refinished candy apple red so maybe it was a return or leftover or something.
