Thanks for having me. I'm in Ocean Grove, (South Eastern Australia). I make and repair instruments from home. A customer gave me a barely played Guild JF30 in return for completing a partly built small bodied acoustic that he last worked on 12 years ago!

I love the big blonde JF30. Huge sound and it has the best neck I've played on a commercially produced guitar.

The heads of the Grover tuners are very tarnished and the rubber washers in their shafts are shrunk and some are split. I'll look for replacement parts or tuners. I' ll check StewMac of course but would appreciate other suggestions.

Thanks again.

Welcome fellow Lefty! That is a great looking acoustic. There are a few members that can help you with replacement parts. Hans may have exactly what you need. 👍

Welcome. Nice bunch of folks around here. I've been reading about the Biblical plagues you folks have endured: Flooding, spiders, hordes of mice. Hope all are well and safe.

Welcome, Redback! That's a pretty nice "payment"!

Gidday Walrus. Yes, I'm pretty happy. The guitar I'm finishing for the guy requires a LOT of work so I'll probably earn it, but very happy still. Thank you for the welcome.

Thank you. Seems a friendly site! Yes, things have been a bit hairy down under if you'll pardon the turn of phrase. Enormous flooding along our East Coast. Thankfully we're further South and missed the rains. Cheers mate.

Welcome, post well post often.
you might contact grover, I once got a new tuner as a replacement for a broken one on a used bass for free.
Thankyou. I'll try that.

As has been mentioned, Grover is a good company and at least so far has a "lifetime warranty" on their tuners. No receipt, no original owner stuff, just if it's broken they fix or replace (their choice). However, you must contact them first and get a return authorization number. In the case of old and tarnished tuners, I could have had one gold one replaced but then it wouldn't match the others so I just bought a set of gold Super-rotomatics with the Imperial knobs and replaced the set. But if the tuner is defective, they will repair or replace if you contact them first. If you want new and pretty tuners, then just go for it. Welcome to LTG!! (y)
