Other than the D25, is there any other mahogany model considered "iconic"?
I actually think the D40 is more "iconic" than the D25, given the visibility it got in the film Woodstock and Richie Havens' career-long endorsement and use. They even built a signature model acknowledging his tie to the instrument.

Sure the D25 sold more than any other Guild as of '97, but off the top of your head can you name anybody of Haven's stature so intimately connected with it?

I can't pick just 2, in fact since I wouldn't give up any of mine and still have one more "pipe dream" in mind (an F47Rce), I'd put the minimum number at 4.
But I think I'd be ok stopping there.

Fair point. Thanks for the reply!

Also, love my (formerly your) F47kc, and share your desire for another F47.

Yer welcome and believe me it wasn't an easy realization for me, my own D25 being my first Guild.
But I posted too fast, before I checked that statement, and actually the D25 sold"more than any other Guild" as of '97, not all others combined, per Guild Gallery #1 pg. 12:

Not mine..My desire comes from it sharing the outline of my F65ce, which has become my go-to for playing comfort, and an "R" because I want to get some rosewood in the collection. ;)

Argh - for some reason I get you and RayK confused. I think because you have similar avatars. Sorry. At any rate, it's a worthwhile pursuit, IMO. :)

Lol at Havens only having the one pick guard. See, any D40 from the old days is a Richie Havens D40. 😀

Not a problem. In fact I'm complemented. :)

Just try to remember he's the wild and crazy one. 😀

OH yeah, btw, an F47 was the other Guild that opened Woodstock:

The Woodstock guitar, 2 weeks later. That's not a reflection on the top next to the soundhole.

He already had been using Guilds with dual 'guards as early as '67, though.

With Clapton at Cafe Au Go Go '67:

I bet if you asked most people under 40 they’d have no idea who Richie Havens is.

The Br I would have to take.
And the D35, surprisingly.
