Nice! That is really interesting with the "full depth" body. I'm wondering if I ever saw one before!

So does the full depth body make this similar to a less-appointed F47? Big fan of the added depth.

Not sure, never tried an F47! Have wondered why Guild designated this body style
as an "F30" and for what period of time they did, I'm guessing approximately 1970 through 1980?
Other than woods it seems to have little in common with what I think of as the classic Guild F30
LTGers have been referring to this F30 body style as the "mini-jumbo" F30 for some time.

F47 is more like an F40 size, 16 x 4-3/4-5 lower. F30s are smaller all around at 15-1/4 x 4-1/4

So what is the body depth at the lower bout? Sorry, I'm not up to speed on the different F-30 sizes...

I thought it was 4-1/2" nominal "most of the time", but that version may be a little deeper. (I see HeyMikey has 'em at 4-1/4 and think he knows better than me)

The thing to be aware of is that in Westerly body depth varied slightly from piece to piece due to their construction tooling and methods.

Tolerance was about 1/4" from spec on dreads for example, so it was possible for 2 guitars from the same batch to show as much as 1/2" difference in body depth if each one was at the limits of tolerance. Had to do with their body bucks, they themselves had slightly differing depths which affected the final depth of the finished guitars.

Saw your post over in WesterlyWood's "What About F20's" thread and as far as I can remember New Hartfords were pretty thin with a 4-1/4" spec, and I suspect tighter tolerances re body depth due to their construction methods.

I posted the spec page over there, courtesy of our kind forum host GAD. :)

mav, that's a typo on my part - it's flat back.
Just edited the original post.
Was writing the description for the F20 and that info got pasted in there.

ah...ok then. makes more sense. the guitar is a lot nicer, now! ha. seriously though. i expect it to sell fast, good luck w that. 1970 and 1980 Guild acoustics are gold. happy u cleared that up, thanks!

I too was kind of getting at possibility it was an arched back. That model’s rep for articulation plus the projection of the arched back could be a tasty little recipe for goodness.

These are amazing. I recently played one at the New Haven Sam Ash and it blew everything away, even the recent M20 that I went there to play. These are another weird sleeper in Guild acoustics.

I'll also say that in general the mini-jumbo (I own an F44) is the perfect happy medium in guitar body sizes, all the oomph of a dread with the narrow waist for finger-picking awesomeness.

If I had the cash . . . I'd buy this one today.

Thanks for the comments Chris!
You have an F44 too? Great guitars!
Reading your post, got curious and decided to compare lower bout widths and depths.
This F30 has 15 1/4"W lower bout vs 16" on my F44, and
measured at the bottom of the body, the F30 is 5"deep vs +/- 4 5/8" depth on the F44.
To me, this particular F30 feels bigger than my F44, pictured below.
