This is the third and last installment of the three "matching" Guild Catalog/Brochures.

Mahogany Rush-001.jpg

Mahogany Rush-002.jpg

Now you have to wonder did they pay any royalties to the Canadian band of the same name? Mahogany Rush

Now unfortunately I don't own any of the guitars pictured, but if you read the last paragraph you'll see they mention a D-16. That one I've got!

1985 D-16M:

And since we're discussing mahogany topped guitars I guess I would be remiss if I didn't post a photo of the most famous one which is the D-25M.

1974 D-25M:

All of these are arched backs as you'll notice there is no back bracing to be seen through the sound holes.

With this we conclude the triad of Guild Catalog/Brochures for the early 80's, stay tuned for our next adventure!

Another nice 80's collection Grot!

I think that was the first time Guild made D15 series guitars and only for a short time. I have to tell you I had not played an all mahogany guitar before I picked up this 1984 Guild D15-12. I don't know about the D15 6 strings but a 12 string with a mahogany body and top has a wonderful sound! I have had a number of fine Guild 12 strings in the past, both jumbo and dread bodies but the sound you get from a D15 12 string is amazing, to me at least. I'm not one for a 12 string with a lot of jangle and this guitar does not have that. It sounds more full and rich to my ears.

I know D15s are considered more of a low end guitar but anyone who likes 12 strings should give a D15-12 a whirl.

(I apologize for the photo quality)

I don't think so Chris. I tried to PM a message to Wood last night and it exceeded the 400 (or whatever it was) characters.
Richard, Grot has listed ALL 113 guitars in his collection as his signature before GAD changed it to the new restrictions. They’re not there now.

OOOH. I didn't realize that. Pity. I like to see all the gear other members have although from a jealousy standpoint it's likely best that I can't.

Well you still get 10 lines and 2000 characters so most people are good. I just took it to the extreme.

Richardp, I think your collection is second only to Grot's, I know you have at least 50 Guilds.
