So I found this little gem from the mid 90s and worked out a trade. I been trying to find one of these for a spell now and hope it is really nice.
Yes I bought a guitar without playing it......Sometimes you just need to take a chance. I know many don't like this version of the Guild headstock
but I think on this model it looks just fine. Love the Chesterfield inlay and trussrod cover on these. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Sweet! That is some killer looking Adi spruce on top. Appears to be pretty clean from these pics.

There is a small repair crack on end of treble side of sound hole right at neck heel. Some scuffs here and there but over all it seems to be in great shape. If you look closely you can see the repair. For a 25 year old guitar you expect to see some kind of battle scare(s) if it has been played.
As long as it is stable ... let the strings keep making music.

I noticed several used Guilds had that crack and I was under the impression that it would be a serious issue down the road. Is there any way to tell if a crack in that location is from an underlying structural problem or not?

Good question.... I'm going to look it over and post some pics from inside with a mirror for those interested.
But it has been dealt with and hopefully is stable now.

Hey HeyMikey, my 93 has the same crack for many years now, comes and goes with the humidity or lack thereof. I keep reminding myself to cleat it when it’s closed up...I’ll do it today perhaps. Good luck with your new guitar

The only way to know for sure is to have a luthier or repair person take a look. The reasons for cracks from the fingerboard to sound hole range from improper humidification to differential movement of wood types to a rotating or shifting neck block.

When I started using my J50 out regularily, I changed out the saddle and bridge pins with bone. It made a subtle difference in a good way.
I may try that with the F30 to see what happens.
