Thanks. The quotes definitely don’t work (at least not for me), but the Google site search technique works fairly well so I will stick with that.

GAD (webmaster extraordinaire) fixed it yesterday so post counts are now displayed below the avatar. :)
That's cool! To be honest, I didn't even take notice of it because I'm so used to seeing the info in the old format. I particularly like to see the join date of members posting in a thread. Now I don't have to hover with the cursor.

Why does my reply window sometimes have a button to attach files? And sometimes it doesn't.

Why does my reply window sometimes have a button to attach files? And sometimes it doesn't.

First, if you want to include an image perhaps you should use the Insert Image icon which is supposed to always be there at the top of the reply window?

If you insist on using Attach Files telling us what device you are using when you get it and don't get it and which threads/forums you do and don't see it. There have been software configuration issues where the experience is not the same across forums and devices and they ae bing fixed as they are discovered.

I'm using my laptop

Not what I expected.

Do you have the edit options on the top of the reply?

We need more information than “sometimes”. If you could narrow this down to certain forums or activities that would help a lot.

I do have those options. They don't do me any good. Because I am computer idiot. Pictures I up load are my pictures, on my computer. I hear people talking about I phones and apps. You know I kind of understand what an app is. But my phone is my phone, my camera, and my flashlight. When I figure out how to do something like put a picture in my avatar, I'm thrilled. My laptop is barely more than a Comodore 64 to me. My brain does not compute. I can tell you how to splice tape. I can rewind an 8-track. I can fix a broken 8mm stag film. But when something doesn't work with my computer I get frustrated, shut it off and play my guitar. Ok I just hit the insert image button and it workedBridgeheight.JPG Usually it asks for a URL My pictures don't have a URL that I'm aware of. Don't really know what URL is.

I tapped the insert image button on my Play On You're Porch thread. And it gave me http;______________. That does me no good at all.

Can we still list our guitars ? I went in and changed some things but it says I'm 13 lines to long . I deleted a space between lines then it said 12 lines to long . so I guess I need to delete it all ? lol this is listed under signature.

Hey Ray, see that huge gap between the list of your guitars and the "Some of my worst songs...." statement? To the best of my knowledge that's a bunch of carriage returns somewhere in there. You gotta get rid of them.

Tom is correct. You may have a maximum of 10 lines in your sig. Every carriage return (blank line) counts as one.

Ahhh but so weird it didn't say anything when I added the Eastman guitar . I deleted the Eastman and added the breed and LM along with adding wood combo's . Then it brought up the error .

So I said ok , I removed some the of the wood descriptions ,nothing same warning . Then I removed the gap between the Guild and other guitars and that changed it to 12 lines to much . Lol

But its still the same now as it was with all the gaps ? So i guess it sneaked under the radar when the site changed . Ok thanks for the heads up .😁

Then I gave up . Lol I'll try again

Still LOTS of space between the Eastman and the " some of my worst songs " line. If it counts all of that, you have a lot of nothing lines in your signature.

Rayk, to fix this edit your sig, put the cursor before "Some" on the last line, then hit backspace until the blank lines are gone.

I would then change:

Blueridge BR180A
Blueridge BR283A

to

Blueridge BR180A, BR283A

Then you'll be at 10 lines.

GAD, I used to save my private messages (now "conversations") to disk as text files periodically and clean up my inbox/outbox. Does such a feature exist in XenForo? I poked around the UI and found nothing like that. I tried selecting "all" and then looked at the pull down... First of all, select all only selects a page worth (20) messages, and then didn't find anything in the pull down anyway that would let me save/export/whatever to disk. Thoughts?

That is not possible in Xenforo, but I think there's an add-on that allows it. Stand by...

There should now be an export button.

As for selecting more than 20, from what I can see this is a limitation of Xenforo and cannot be worked around, except that:
  • You can select across multiple pages
  • You can make the pages show more conversations (max 100)
