Well in the rapidly changing social environment here in sunny Californy, my employer has elected to close the front office and ordered all clerical/marketing employees to work from home.
As my close friends here know I don't actually even have a computer at home much less internet so that's going to put a severe crimp in my ability to keep my post count up and an even worse one in my productivity, believe it or not.
Kudos to my employer however for guaranteeing continued regular pay to all employees including non-exempt (hourly) folks who are on reduced hours and rotating shifts in our retail and warehouse locations. (This, to reduce person-to-person risk of exposure to Covid-19).
It is up to me to decide whether or not to sign up for internet, which would greatly enhance my ability to work from home.
I'm loath to do it as I believe ATT (who owns the franchise rights to hard-wire internet service in my apartment complex) is the evil empire, having seen the cynical marketing/service tactics they use in forcing customers into "upgraded" (more expensive) service packages over the course of their "relationship".
So don't know if or when I'll return.
A few parting thoughts:
We'll Meet Again: (Maybe)
And in case we don't and the building's on fire:
"Turn off your mind relax and float down stream
It is not dying
It is not dying....
Or play the game "Existence" to the end
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning...."
"Trumpets and violins, I can hear in the distance
I think they're calling our names
Maybe now you can't hear them, but you will...
And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then I'll meet you in the next one
And don't be late, don't be late..."
Adios muchachos.
