I'm probably too dumb to tell if it's s AAA or not, but I don't
play it much. I do like to just set it out so I can see it, though.
From that Bluesbird owner's thread I linked to, these are the 3 colors that were offered on AAA tops, in '01 and '02 at least, and I'm guessing for the entire run based on a re-read of that thread just now.
Note what Blue335 calls "Blonde" is actually "Amber":
The Cherry 'burst at bottom is absolutely AAA, in fact, I see it's only 21 units away from yours.
The other two have a more "quilted" look but that could very well be due to the angle they were photographed from.
And a few of the later Amber AAA's exhibited such 3D quilting I originally thought the
quilted effect was the AAA but found out differently a couple of years later.
Here's a trans black one with less flamboyant quilting effect; courtesy of our member Coastie99:
and Green Blues 90 showing more subdued striping:
Anyway, based on the odds and the color I'd bet yours is a AAA without even seeing it.
I've been a Rachmaninoff fan for a LONG time. I'm really partial to
Vivaldi's Four Seasons forever. I used to want to play like Segovia,
but that didn't last too long once I actually tried it. Now, I just listen.
I love some good cello music. Pablo Casals has a good CD on the Bach Suites
For Cello, if you like that sort of thing. I'd love to meet YoYo Ma one of these days.
Roger all that.
Especially YoYo.
How are you on hard blues? If you haven't heard of Frank Marino, Tommy Castro
Tommy's a local boy! (San Jose)
Used to see him in a couple of the local dives.
:biggrin-new:
But my tastes are running more towards Bela Fleck's
Throw Down Your Heart or this guy, lately. (quoted my own post in the "From the store" subforum):
This guy might be the most important modern blues guy I bet 99% of you never heard of yet.
Heard this coming in on the Stanford college station and locked on, one of those tunes that grabbed me by the ears and wouldn't let go:
"Resurrection Blues":
Didn't even know who it was at first so waited for artist credits to be announced and lo and behold he's the artist of the week on the Friday morning blues show.
I feel so vindicated!

My other Guild is an older F47MCE. I love that guitar! That neck seems like it was made for me.
That'ds be like a first cousin to my F65ce, same outline but yours'd be a deeper body flatback maple, right?
It's got a 1-5/8 nut which is just a wee bit narrow compared to my ideal 1-11/16, but livable. I think that's the F47's got the 1-11/16, right?
And if it's mid-90's Westerly like my D25, yep, the neck is what made me
buy that guitar.
I'm going to sell my Alvarez Yairi WY-1. No contest between those two guitars.
