Anybody interested in trading something for my 1974 SF-6?

I have never seen a Starfire VI with a mahogany body before. She's so pretty! That walnut colour goes so well with the golden hardware!
Is it a maple neck, though?

Yeah, neck is flamed maple, though the flame doesn't shine through the dark finish so well.

So... contemplating a custom TV Junior build and could use $1,300-1,400 or so to swing it. Anybody got something cool of lesser value they'd like to swap for the Starfire with some cash on top? Open to just about anything, except for super high-tech and/or shredder stuff.

Would also entertain outright purchase offers, I guess.

Just me talking here, but one should strongly resist the urge to let go of their high school guitar.

I thankfully still have mine, over 40 years later ('73 D-35). Cold, dead hands is what it will take.

Agreed. I sold my "high school money" Guild S300A-D and can't get it back. I ended up buying four others in an attempt to replace it, but it was never the same.

GAD/Neal, the thing is, I have like 20-something high school guitars... My dad and I used to go trawl around pawn shops, flipping guitars on a daily basis back then. Miss him sometimes

That's a different story, then, and a pretty cool one at that.

Bump. So... Ended up putting money down on a custom LP Junior build. ...And then had some unexpected cat vet expenses (of course). Will listen to sub-$3k offers on this one now and also still interested in part trade offers (open to all kinds of stuff -- hopeless projects, Newark Street stuff, non-Guilds of any sort, really anything w/o a locking nut) that would net me some cash back in return.

Good luck! I know what it's like with the vet bills (he's made a full recovery, hope your's does too!)

Thanks for that, Chris and glad to hear! Took a 10-11 year old cat in b/c he'd gone through his second fit of vomiting and was acting like he couldn't get comfortable, lying listlessly in weird spots, etc. Of course, behavior back to normal 20 mins before the apt, but his liver enzymes and some other levels elevated and vet thinks we ought to do "something." Now in 2nd week of antibiotics and supposed to re-check blood work after (another $200, I think?) -- if no changes, then I'm not really sure what's next, plus he's acting like his normal, obnoxious self.

Sorry for the ramble, lol.

If it persists, try to get a referral to a major vet hospital. Mine went through weeks of various antibiotics and drastic weight loss before they had hit the limits of their facilities. It took a trip up to OSU (Ohio, not Okla) teaching hospital and $$$$ worth of tests to find the underlying staph infection causing immune mediated arthritis. After an aggressive, long series of the right antibiotic cocktail, and continuing steroids, he's gained his weight back and is back to himself.

Always keep an eye on what's really important, as you are.

Bump -- still all ears on any trade + cash combos, or maybe a really cool straight trade.
