I picked up a JF 26 yesterday. I don't think I have heard of one on this board. Does anyone know anything about this model?

Some details:

Serial # AJ 260014

Snakehead headstock with peaked "Guild" logo.

Rosewood fingerboard.

Spruce top

Mahogany back and sides.

Back is arched like an F-40 or F-50, no internal bracing.

Hello CK,

Yup, I have one too. It's a real rare bird. They only made a very limited number. It's basically the Jumbo brother of the D-26, which was a rare one as well. They did them in 1995 and all the ones I've seen so far had a December 1991 ink stamped date on the neckblock. I would assume that your guitar has that too, does it?

Hi Hans,

The guitar is stamped "Dec 10 91" on the right (lower) side of the neckblock. It took me awhile to find it because I didn't expect it to be where it was.

For those of you who want to see a pic, you can go here:

I am about to give up posting pics on this site because it seems that everyone I post is giant-sized, even if I only copy it over as a thumbnail.

Hello CK,

Thanks for the date on the neck block! The guitar however is from 1995 as weird as that may sound............and it's a JF-26, not a GF-26!

Here's your photo:
