I have come to a lot of things in retirement. Never heard of Tommy Emmanuel until this past April. My daughter (aspiring singer/songwriter) was coming for a visit in a few weeks. I told her to check out the URL of Tommy doing "Classical Gas" on the tube, to practice and we would do it together. She had never heard of him either and thought I was serious until she watched it!

He is coming to KC this fall, but I won't be there, I love to watch his face as he plays, the joy just radiates, and at concert I'd be stuck in nosebleed heaven.
Also I won't be able to see his fingering and see what he stole from me!

Hey - this Jake Shimabukuro was playing a concert in Kona / Kilauea, Hawaii when I was there in May this year. I had not ever heard of him - and now I am now seriously kicking myself for not going. Doh !!
