I have a 1967 Starfire I bass.
I know the neck and , in my case, the body is made of mahogany.
But that center block, what the heck is that made of ?
Was wondering about all archtops, guitar and bass in general also :?:

Most manufactures usually make it point to describe their body
and neck woods.
But, I cant ever recall any saying anything about their center blocks.
I wonder if the type of wood is as important as the body and neck woods .

I just searched through all my stuff, and I can't find any mention of what wood was used. I always assumed it was the same as whatever the top was, i.e. maple or mahogany. But, of course, I have no idea...
