I just browsed through something in the bookstore, I think it was Guitar World Acoustic. Anyway, it had Tom Petty on the front and interviewed him. He likes to write on Gibsons and record with Martins. But he has a Guild 12 String that he plays onstage because "it cuts through the mix." There is a pic, it looks like either a G-212 or G-312, I couldn't tell. Dreadnaught body with a Chesterfield logo.

Ho,

I'd sure like to see what the results would be if the experts had to pick the best guitars after playing them all blindfolded.

Cy,

I think I've seen him play a D25 12.

The reason I suggested G212 or G312 was because of the Chesterfield inlay. Did D25 12's come with a Chesterfield? Just wondering because I don't know.

You know....I think it's interesting that Guild placed in the AG Reader's Poll when (as far as I know right now) they don't have a production 12. That's really resting on one's laurels - in a good way. A solid name/reputation is a great thing. All hail the Westerly 12! dbs

Oh but they do, there is a brand new Tacoma F 412 hanging on the wall in the local shop. Came in a couple months ago with a new D 55, D 40 & a Jumbo. The jumbo sold first & it would have been my last choice :? .

To me the Tacoma Guild 12 is magnificent compared to the Taylor & Martin 12's, I was initially quite envious of the new D 40 & D 55 but after playing the new Guilds regularly over the last several weeks I find myself content with my little harem. The D 55 hanging on their wall has a "bigger" sound than any I own.

May Edition of Acoustic Guitar Magazine.......

Great article on the Making of a D-28.

Maybe we can influence Editor Phil Catalfo of String Letter Publishing, San Rafael, CA, to do a like article on the Guild D-55?

If enough folks e-mail him....maybe it can happen!
